For those of you who don't know, I was working part time at this small computer parts store here on the west coast, mostly big in California but has other stores scattered in states, one here in Phoenix, one in Vegas, etc. Some of you might have shopped at one before, I was only really working there to learn more about computer hardware, mission accomplished.
Anyways, now that i'm working at GoDaddy (the sales commission is ridiculous by the way) FT I went down to only working like 10-15 hours a week, then last week my manager needed to hire someone else who could work more hours, and couldn't keep me on. Whatever, i was only working weekends there and was honestly pry going to quit soon anyways, so no worries, i worked my last weekend there and left it be. My last day was on Saturday, i finished getting the parts to build my computer and left in peace. I went to the site www.pcclub.com yesterday to check something out, and if you go to the site, it's closed. I called my manager, PC Club filed chapter seven bankruptcy, and nobody in management even knew. My manager is out of a job Working there 6 1/2 years, and no severance pay, no vacation time. That's fucked up dude. Wikipedia has this up: Chapter 7 Closure On May 13th 2008, PC Club closed without warning to employees or returning service customers their property. As of May 14th, there has been no verified source for customers to contact regarding their personal computers in for repair and still locked behind PC Club's doors. As of May 13th, all employee-related questions should be forwarded to: employeeinfo@pcclub.com For related PC Club legal matters, please contact this law firm: The Law Office of Robert C. Hsu 2555 E. Colorado Blvd Suite 306 Pasadena, CA 91107 Phone: 626.584.7055 Fax: 626.604.0345 robert@rhsulaw.com The PC Club website has also been shut down in a similar quick fashion, a place-holder announcing the closure of PC Club with a "thank you" for years of service. This is the Sign posted on PC CLUB store doors: "Dear Customers, We regrettably want to inform you that PCClub filed for Chapter 7 today. If you have any question or concern, please email customerinfo@pcclub.com We truly apologize if this decision will cause you any inconveniences and we want you to know that your business has been appreciated over the years. -PCClub Management" I don't know, that's just fucked up to me. Funny, because all of the people out of jobs without ANY notice or compensation, but fucked up nonetheless. discuss. |
