So it is absolutely amazing how quickly your emotions and moods can change. I mean, one moment everything can be going fine, life is great and you have this feeling of indestructibility. You are looking life in the eye and saying bring it on because you know better than to let anything get you down today. And then…. WHAM! It hits you like a ton of bricks. Something happens. Not even something big, but its big enough to make you think about it, even dwell on it. You turn it over in your head, over-analyze it, beat it black and blue until eventually you have managed to make something out of nothing. Hence, killing that good mood you had going for you. And you think, what happened? Where did that good mood come from and, how do you get it back? Indestructibility? And you search and you search, but alas, you find no guiding light….So what do you do? You browse over radio stations and dig through your pile of cds in hopes of finding something to help you take your mind off things. You call the few friends you have that are close enough to confide in to either,
A. offer any words to, in someway, make you feel better
-or-
B. to be willing to go do something to distract your attention.
Unfortunately, neither 1, 2, nor 3, of those you tried to contact, were available…So, what’s next? You go home take a long hot shower, pop 1or 2 sleeping pills, hope they kick in quick and that what you awake in the morning you fail to recall your troubles. All the while, in the back of your mind you know that there are a lot bigger things out there in the world than you and your little problem. Yet, for some reason you just cant seem to focus on anything else. You go to sleep. …You wake up the next morning with a migraine but you have seemingly forgotten your worries. Once you’ve had enough time to allow the blood to flow back towards your brain, you recall most of the previous night but surprisingly, it doesn’t seem like such a big deal anymore. Everything is going fine, life is great and you have this feeling of indestructibility. You are looking life in the eye and saying bring it on because you know better than to let anything get you down today. And then…. WHAM! It hits you like a ton of bricks.

Has anyone else ever had this feeling of déjà vu?

Yeah alot of times. Usually it happens to me during the summer when I don't have school to distract me. I spend hours lying prostrate on my bed, staring out the window and thinking. Not about anything or anyone specific, just thinking. Eventually I settle on some flaw in my person and beat myself up over it.

So faraway, in answer to your question, you are not alone in this feeling.

I hope you enjoy living on top of the world, when you die knowing you lived your life on your knees.

see, man you gotta get control over your selfs. you gotta learn to keep your composure or they'll slap you with a label. once the man says you're unstable, watch your ass cause your in for a trip. you gotta learn to put those out-there emotions aside when cats can see and only let them out at night when you can use the darkness as a shield. and if you're gonna do it, you might as well leave something witchy behind.

A friend to strangers, a stranger to friends.

I think that things like that are going to happen to everyone for the rest of their lives. You can't be feeling upbeat and positive ALL the time. If only it could be that way though, right? Imagine how much better things could be. It's just so scary sometimes how fragile our emotions can be and how we can be so powerless against it. It just reminds us of how complicated our minds are. And ya, sometimes there is no escape from it, but aren't those moments of darkness some of the most brilliant moments we ever have?
