Yea well, I dunno if I'm the only person that will ever think of this as a great idea, but I decided to make a thread for the heck of it... And hopefully its all about the Final Fantasy series.. Peeps could come up in here to get advice, chat about the games, tell secrets, whatever.. Sounded like a good idea to me.. So.. Let the thread begin!

Im actually thinking about getting a PS2 in the next day or so. I was wondering if any of the latest final fantasy's are worth getting? To me they just seem to get gayer and gayer. Ive never played them though so I cant verify.
I know the older ones, even though I never played them, didn't seem this way. And from looking and breifly playing, final fantasy tactics seemed the most fun to me, although thats for ps1. In fact, I just ordered the game offline since I couldn't find it at any local stores. Only ps1 games they sell anymore are used, and it wasnt in any of the stacks. Oh also I was wondering. In order to get the most out of the final fantasy games, should I have been playing them in order? Is the history from other games going to make the game make no sense to me? No, none of the Final Fantasys have anything to do with each other (except for X and X-2). What they all do share is like the same summons and some monsters. Other than that, I'd definitely reccomend X and X-2 as I'd put them right up there with 6 (or 3 in america) and 4 (or 2 in america). In other words, they are 2 of the best games you can get for the PS2. Besides, X just came out as a greatest hit. You can't go wrong with that. Buy it, play it, if you like it, I'd reccomend you get X-2.

I'm really starting to look forward to GameCube's Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles. It's actually an action RPG, which I could use right now, I'm in the mood. I spent all weekend playing X with my brother. 'Twas pretty rad. Excellent aeons and fun times with the cloister of trials.

Final Fantasy 11 is a MMORPG. I don't really like that sort of thing, but you do, right Nathan? You could give that a shot. But you need some special equipment, and it's got a monthly fee. (but if you're an everquest player, you're used to it, right?
Oh, and it's due out for PS2 soon. [ February 01, 2004, 11:16 PM: Message edited by: Elegy ] |

Nathan, I dunno you, so I don't know if you have or not, but if you haven't played Final Fantasy VII for the PSI you should definitely try that out. It doesn't have very good graphics anymore due to being OOD, but its still one of the better Final Fantasy's along with FFX, I still haven't had time to play FFX-2, but I have it, I spend to much time playing Counter-Strike, and Final Fantasy XI

Like I said I just ordered tactics, so im going to try to beat that first. I might give FF7 a whirl then, my friend will probably let me borrow it.
Its hard to say if im truely a RPG fan. I havent bought any console games/systems in like 4 years, and the last RPG that ive played all the way through was mario RPG... Generally the last 6 or 7 years ive just been playing mmorpgs and 1st person shooters online. [ February 02, 2004, 10:05 PM: Message edited by: Nathan ] |
