It seems like awards like these don't so much go to the artists as they do the performers.

Fuck Pop$TV (mtv).

I know Pliedes. But look at the competition she had:
Lose Yourself (Eminem)
In Da Club (50 Cent)
Hurt (Johnny Cash)

I think somebody else should have won, and I like Missy Elliot. (I think Gossip Folks is a better song, though.)

I really wish that Johnny Cash had won at least one award (I'm pretty sure he didn't, but I may be wrong...). His cover of "Hurt" was great.

Great.. haha.. he was just talking.. there was no singing. 50 cent is the most powerful artist that was at the VMAs.

That wouldn't be the case if Johnny Cash had gotten to go... he's easily twice the musician 99% the motherfuckers there are. How amazing is it that a 70 year old man whose career spans 5 decades was the third most nominated artist for a station catering to a much younger crowd?!

I thought "Hurt" won for best cinematography.

Very true StabMaster, but he didn't even sing in "hurt".. he just talked and it sounded like he was struggling to get the word out.. I don't doubt he's a good artist, but he wasn't the most powerful man in that place at that time.

A good reason that Johnny Cash wasn't the most powerful person there is probably because he was not there. If you were to read Stab's post again, you'd realize that he said that... and fuck 50 Cent, he doesn't sing either.

Yeah, did you guys here about Johnny Cash's ailment? Seems he's in the hospital for internal bleeding in his stomach or something. Which is a damn shame. It would have been fucking awesome to see him there schoolin the young fucks around him.

Well, at least he can look on the bright side. He only has an ailment, he's lucky he didn't fall into another ring of fire, because he's getting kinda old...

Schroeder, I know Missy had stiff competition from bigger names, but they're video's for their songs weren't as good. Her's was extremely creative and interesting, top to bottom. When it comes to an individual video, she was definately the best.

...and "Work It" is definately better than "Gossip Folks".

I'd like to get to know ya so I could show ya
Put the pussy on ya like I told ya
Gimme all your numbers so I could phone ya
Your girl actin' stank then call me over
Not on the bed, lay me on your sofa
Phone before you come, I need to shave my chocha
You do or you don't or you will or won't ya
Go downtown and eat it like a vulture
See my hips and my tips, don't ya
See my ass and my lips, don't ya

Amen Missy, amen. Lord be with you in your wonderful journey of Faith.

I do what the fuck I want.
