I am supporting Aaron Russo for President. He is a former movie producer and candidate for Nevada governer. He ran as a Republican in 1998, receiving 2nd place in his primary to the incumbant and eventual winner, in a 4 way race. Those of you whom are open-minded should check out his first-class website www.russoforpresident.com

I said John Kerry before the primaries and caucuses, and I will stick with my man John Kerry. If he happens not to get the Democratic nod, then I will Go with Dubya. All the other candidates in the democratic party irritate me.

Personally Im a fan of the moderate democrat Liberman, who is similar to Clinton. However, I doubt Liberman will win the democratic ticket and therefore i will vote for whichever democrat that wins the primaries. I believe that this election is pivotal, and that Bush must be ousted.

Howard Dean is the best man for the job in my book, his campaign is not accepting any sort of donations from giant corporations hence he will owe no one favors (unlike G. Dumb and Haliburton) he will balance the budget now so we don;t have to spend our social security money on it when we need it. On top of all that he seems like a man who will do whats right for our country and the common citizen. Just check out www.deanforamerica.com

Howard Dean just informed his committee members that they will not be paid for a certain amount of time because all of his money is needed for his campaign. So if he takes the pay away from his committee members to control his personal budget crisis, then what will he do to Americans. Take our pay away until he gets the economy and his personal needs up?

while this is true A) these people will be payed within two weeks and B) we are talking about people who are 100% committed to Dean's presidential nomination, people who have sacrificed much more than a delayed paycheck for his campaign. From what I've read Dean has been very good to the people that work on his campaign. I'm sure Dean could take the easy way out and take corporate money to get out of this current monetary debacle but he is sticking to his guns and taking the road less traveled so the people of the country have sole ownership of his presidency.

If by excellent point you mean absolutley absurd (see pliedes and my last posts)...then yes excellent point. Unfortunatly our political system has broken down into a 2 party system where our choice is very limited, but choosing a third party and taking votes away from the democratic party only gives dubya that much more of a chance to stay in office, something that would be devastating to our country for various economic, enviromental and international relations reasons. While normally I would support a 3rd party option it just isn't conducive to getting G. Dumb out of office.

That style of thinking is what holds everybody back. According to researchers and polls, about 18% of Americans are actually Libertarians. If those people actually voted Libertarian, (they would come from Dems AND Repubs) then maybe those complaining about a 2 party system would see an alternative solution. However, as long as 3rd parties are viewed as a wasted vote, that won't happen.
Remember, the lesser of two evils, is still evil. |

Without supporting third parties, it makes difficult for them to get the word out to others. If a third party candidate is polling at least 7%, they will be on the national debates. Have you ever seen a Libertarian on a presidential debate? That's why.

I've also never seen a tv spot or published advertisment for any libertarian candidates. If they would get their message out to the people I bet they would have a lot more luck with the national debate thing. If they got the backing of the people they would be in the debate. And the only way to get that is to do some "mass communicatin'" (oh brother, anyone?).

That is tricky, so what would you suggest? Maybe taking some of the money from the box on the tax form that asks if we'd like two dollars from our tax return donated to the presidential campaign? I hate that box because it's very unfair to other parties. Or maybe find somebody like Perot to fund the campaign?

I and the Libertarian Party have been trying to figure that out for 30 years...I simply suggest word of mouth in a positive sense. The Libertarians that have been elected have held true with everything they said they would, and are trusted. Slowly, it's getting larger. I'm just afraid it won't happen soon enough.
