Eh, I know, leave it to me to start a fanboy topic, but hey, I haven't let my inner fanboy shine on here for a fucking long time. So suck it.
Anyway, as you all know, the mantle of Batman has been passed on to around 4 different actors since Adam West camped him up in the 60's. Since then, Micheal Keaton, Val Kilmer, and George Clooney have played the Dark Knight. And now, there's a new person behind the cape and cowl. Holy diet pills Batman! |

God forbid a Batman movie would have some good acting. I thought Bale did a very nice job in American Psycho. I hope the series hasn't been killed by the last few movies. I haven't liked a Batman movie since Batman Returns. I like Batman. He is probably my favorite super hero, right behind the X-Men ( yeah, it's a team, sorry). By the way, I'm talking comic book/ old Fox cartoon X-Men, not the movies or this evolution crap.

Actually, the movies were a great representation of the X-men. X2 was a fantastic movie.
But yeah, the old FOX cartoons of the X-men rocked the casbah. I don't know, I think that since this movie's going to center around a younger Bruce Wayne, during the time when he's just beginning his crime fighting career, that Bale will do an excellent job of playing the character. He's got the look, and he has the skills too. I'm looking forward to it. |

I also am looking foward to another Batman movie. I'm in the minority in this but I've enjoyed everyone that has came out so far. Regardless of how terrible they are. I guess I'm just a sucker for a guy in black leather... I mean... ... ... shit.

I did see the early ones, and they weren't horrible, but they were nowhere near what I wanted to see from a new X-men cartoon.
And you say the old X-men is on ABC family every once in a while? You mind divulging a little bit more on that piece of info for me? [ September 13, 2003, 02:14 PM: Message edited by: Combat Chuck ] |

Next time I get a chance to watch it I'll make sure to give you a time and day on it. I just happen to turn to it everyonce in a while then forget the time... I really wish I didn't.
Any clue if you can find the episodes online? My computer is shitty but maybe someone could help me out? |

While on the topic of old tv shows, does anyone know where to download any of the old Nickelodeon shows that I know everyone used to watch:

Combat, besides Batman and Harvey Dent (the only reason I brought it up was that he went from black to white in a matter of a few years) who has changed? Comissioner Gordon and Alfred were always the same. I'd also like to add that I love Alfred. He's my favorite side character. Anyway, who am I missing?

I feel a big factor in the quality of this Batman movie will be the director. The first two Batman movies were pretty damn good. They were directed by Tim Burton. The last two Batman movies, are when the whole series went to shit, this of course is because the director, Joel Schumacher, sucks dick.
If he is directing this next one, I'd anticipating nothing but dick sucking. |

You just brought up the point that I almost forgot there Harry. The director is crucial to the film's credibility, as Schumacher so expertly illustrated. Batman And Robin was a travesty.
But they have a different director for this one, and a screenwriter who has a background in adapting comics stories to film. Or at least, rumors were flying in that direction. And gina, I forgot that the Comish and Alfred were played by the same people, and I think that Robin was played by the same person in Batman Forever and Batman and Robin....Chris O Donnel I believe. Whatever. I was just pointing out that the characters always change. You also reminded me that Harvey Dent was black in the first one. Damn, I need to see the first two again. They were cinematic orgasms. |
