This will be a thread where all anouncements are made that concern the Nubblites basketball team. You can make plays and post pictures here, submit a suggestion for the team, or do anything you want...without the fear of those gay ass Lumberjacks reading it. Fuck the Lumberjacks.
All Nubblites are allowed in. Along with this, I'm allowing Ugly Bastard entrance (because he doesn't live here and is probably the Nubblites' biggest supporter). Who else do you think should be allowed in. Combat Chuck? I made an executive decision with UB, I'll ask the rest of you about letting in others. G'day. |

As glamorous as they look on paper, and as well as they make work in you guys' practice; once you actually get a defense up against you, plays don't work worth shit. Just something to think about. Your best bet would be to just use you naturally-given talents and put plays together on the fly (example: Set a lot of picks, use your speed and pull some fast breaks, etc.). Actual textbook plays, probably aren't going to work for you. But do what ya want, it's your team....I'm just throwin ya my advice from my tenure playing W.C.H.S. intermurals. I think that, instead of making plays, we get playing styles set. This kinda combines giving each player a position and making plays all in one... Basically, we need to develop (for example) the sense to give kyle a pick when he's at the top of the key because he's quick as a fuckstain, and other stuff like that. We need to realize each other's strengths and we must do everything we can to exploit those strengths.

I agree with Orgazmo too.
We'll also need to probably design one little play for full court presses and trap and stuff. Shouldn't be too hard, just have to know where the openings will be and stuff. Also, i think it would be good if we could put together our own full court trap. It might not work against teams that are really good, but against lower skilled teams, you can score points quickly and effectively if you know what you're doing. |

I can agree with that. Maybe not set plays, but making everything condusive to one anothers playing styles.
Lets work on small combo's though. For instance, if melvins on the outside, and I'm on the block, melvin and i could have a few set things to do for such a likely case (ie - feed the post for big man faceoff, or me setting a pick for him, or a quick pass inside then melvin tot he corner) just small combo's like that, the whole team doesn't have to be in on them, cuase they're more of personal little tricks up the sleave. I definately think we shouldn't let chuck in, honestly, what would he contribute except a 'go team'. UB and StDx can help us out with stategizing, and aside from that, they pose no real threat anyways, chuck is just too close. We could wait til the first game to see how into us he is, but again, what would letting him in here serve? |

The big thing I noticed that we needed to do was cut after we passed. People would pass off the ball and just stand there. We need to pass, then move, right away.
Also, when I'd run across the court (hoping for a screen) the person I'm planning on the screen from would rotate...I understand where you're coming from, to have ourselves spread out, but I'm all about the screens. Just stay put when I'm running across the court, or step out to give me an even better screen if you wish. |

This isn't big enough for a thread, but I thought it should be pointed out that we are now officially a nubblies team, as Melvin finally got a screen name.
I'm glad he went with nigga187. I didn't think he was gonna do it. Either way, I'm not expecting to see any posts anytime soon. |

After seeing Combat Chuck's support, I truly think he should be in this forum.
I mean, fuck, he was at the game before any of the Nubblites to "scout." This kid is a trooper. Along with this, he runs the scoreboard. It's still your guys' call...but I say he should be in. |

Just want to say thanks to you guys, and I totally agree with the fact that you didn't want to let me in here before the first game. Hell, I wouldn't have let myself in.....just be assured that nothing is slipping out of this mouth. Anything said on the hill stays on the hill...
Glad I could show some support for a team that has been ordained by the big one above. Seriously, Sunday was a great privilege. I enjoyed every minute of it. |
