I think there needs to be a place for suggestions somwhere on here. Don't make stupid requests, but if you think it will help the shard or something, put it in here.

Also, Nathan, thanks for the bank thing and I understand about the reagants thing, it was just a thought.

I don't like having to use regs, but it's fair I suppose. Also, I don't like it that I drop my weps when I cast a spell. There's my bitching for the moment.

As for droping your wep, thats because tecnhically you never could cast with weapons equipped, on sphere shards for whatever reasons you could.

However, if you find a weapon with "Spell Channeling" you can have it eqiupped and still cast.

I have a suggestion for you all that are getting back into UO.

Start getting in a habit of unattendly macroing. I suggested on the site to download razor from razor.runuo.com. Its a great program, although you will need the 20 some meg .net framework file from microsoft as well.

Even if you cant do that, at least just set a macro to space bar and leave a stapler or something heavy on it just so you repeatidly use a skill. Seeing players macroing unattendly gives me hope that people want to play my shard regularily.

Keep in mind however, OSI implemented a "anti-macro code" which is in effect on my shard as well. The code basically will limit and eventually stop gains if you do not actively move your character. If your standing still, the game thinks your cheating, so they would cut off your skills.

Here is how I would suggest you bypass this anti macro code.

1) Buy a boat
2) go to moonglow
3) launch the boat east of moonglow
4) sail east for aways. There is an area east of moonglow where you can sail N/S and NEVER hit any land. Basically your boat will continuously sail around the world.
5) turn your boat N, and start macroing your desired skill.

If you set that all correctly, you should now be east of moonglow sailing north, working a skill or skills. The moving boat will bypass the anti macro code, even though technically your character is sitting still.

If you guys have anymore questions about this just reply back. Its 3 in the morning right now so I might be rambling on and not making sense =P

All and all I think the shard is pretty damn cool, I enjoy it alot, but here's a few suggestions.

I also don't like the fact that you have to disarm to cast a spell, but if there's weapons that allow you to keep weapon when casting I guess that's fine.

I think the dungeon's are too dark, I can't see shit when I'm in a dungeon.

That's really all I can think of right now, casting sucks b/c it makes you wait so long for a target, extremely gay.

Ya, like I told Austin theres special weapons and shields with the "Spell Channeling" property on them. That property allows you to cast with them equipped. Although most spell channeling weps/shields usually have a -1 fast casting. You will eventually want to find a SCing wep w/o the negative.

Im not sure if some of you are aware but as mages you cant really wear any old armor. Well, I suppose you could, but its going to affect your mana regen. The only armor that natually lets you meditate is leather armor. If you want other types of medable armor you need to find armor with the "Mage Armor" mod, that allows you to med with it on w/o affecting your mana regen.

As for dungeon lights, I haven't really looked into it, I just cast night sight on myself and its usually alright. Maybe if I can figure out how to brighten it up a tad I will.

Your right, casting does suck. When age of shadows came out they made regular casting really slow. The only way to get up to a half way decent casting speed is by getting jewelery with the "Fast Casting and Fast Cast Recovery" mods on it.

Basically as you can probably tell from the above posts, Age of Shadows made UO item based big time, which really sucks.. but thats just the way it is. Im trying my best to increase magic drops on various monsters so hopefully finding the right equipment wont be so bad.

You have got to do something with stat gain. I gain a ton in intelligence which I already had 100 in, now 115, but hardly any in str or dex. I know you've already said something about it, but just to let you know how much I hate it.

One more thing, I have left my guy to macro 3 different times and all 3 times it lost a connection. Any idea what's up with that? One of the times it was only for like an hour and a half too.

Oh yeah, and it also puts me in moonglow for some reason, even though I was previously on my boat.

As for the losing connection thing, thats a problem im having with my ISP right now. About once a day or so it randomly bumps me offline for about 5 mins or so. This means that everyone on the server loses connection as well. We are looking into upgrading our subscription plan w/ comcast and hopefully getting a business subscription w/ a static IP so it will be more reliable. Only problem is im not sure if Ill be able to cover the difference for the upgrade.

For the time being, unfortunetely you guys will have to deal with the ISP problems, and im sorry for any inconveniences it causes you, there is not much more I can do atm about that.

It bumps you to a random place like moonglow because when you lose connection your boats still moving, but you are not. Since the game doesnt allow you to stand on water, it bumps you to a random location on land off the water.

I just got off the phone with my ISP. They told me that my internet seems to be, and seems to have been working fine all along.

They told me the cut offs to the internet are more then likely due to one of my router configs, so this is something im going to have to look into some more. I have a 4 port linksys router, and I heard that linksys routers tend to have problems alot, so it might be a bit of work before I can figure this out. If I cant figure out whats wrong with the configs I might have to swap routers w/ my buddys and see if I can get that one working.

Okay, update on the ISP/router problems. After doing some reading on various forums and websites, I think ive determined the problem.

Since the server is run on my cable internet, which does not have a static IP, once in awhile the IP changes. When the IP changes, the router needs a few minutes to update with the new IP, so during those few minutes, my internet goes down, along with the server.

To "hopefully" fix this problem, ive downloaded a utility program that shouldn't allow this. The program should now automatically update the IP the router and the ISP is giving me at the same time, so there is not that few minute delay before the internet comes back up.

If this program does work properly, we shouldn't be having anymore programs with losing connection! The program I downloaded was trialware though, so after 2 months of using it ill have to buy a key. If it works though, and keeps the server up without problems for 2 full months, then it will be definetely worth the $10.

I think it would be better if we didn't have to have a free hand to drink a potion. I'm starting to use them now and it's kind of a pain in the ass, and makes them less effective. Basically pots suck ass altogether...a greater heal potion gives me 20 health...woah that sucks ass, I can get way more than that with the greater heal spell...whats the use of alchemy?

The thing is though, I think alot of the things you guys want implemented are how various sphere shards ran such as voe and new sosoria. If some of you werent aware, sphere was, and probably still is buggy as hell. They never implemented half of the shit the way its supposed to be.

So far, only being around a couple of days, I like the changes and there is more consistancy to connection than a lot of others. I really enjoy the implementation of the colored ore elementals in shame, just have to have a bonded packy now [img]smile.gif[/img]

I suggest that you run a UO Triathalon. I'm just writing shit as it comes to me right now...on the fly, so it may not make much sense...but bear with me.

Imagine if there was an event, a big ass event in which a ton of people participated, spanning over a few days (3 probably...) which consists of 3 main events. Points are awarded to people in the place that they finish for each event (say there are 10 people participating...1st place gets 20 points, 2nd gets 17, 3rd 14, 4th 12, 5th 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1. Something simple like that. After all of the events are done, the scores are tallied and prizes are awarded based on the rankings. Prizes would range from something super pimp as fuck for 1st place to like a +10 powerscroll of any choice for last place, or whatever you see fit, of course.

Now for the important part, the events.

The three main things that make up uo are these:
Fighting
Knowledge
and, of course, Shit Talking.

The first event would be a pvp tourney...pretty straightforward.

The second event would be a scavengar hunt where you give us a list of clues to find different things you've hidden throughout the game. Say we all start at point A. As we're sitting there, you make a post on the board with a big ass list of clues to find the shit you've hidden (say you hide 10 - 20 items or something). Once you post, we're free to look (using the post as reference...this way no one gets the list before another person, therefore no one has any advantage). We all go and scavenge until everything's been found. Person with the most items wins...and so on.

The third event would be a shit-talking playoff. Names are randomly selected and a playoff bracket is constructed. The admin's (or whoever isn't participating and wants to) watch as the two talk shit to each other...and, at the end, they judge. Pretty easy.

I like it, let's do it.

This is a possiblity. It would need to be announced well in advance so people are able to show up at at least 2 of the 3 events. It would be ideal probably to start it on a friday night, and then follow up on the next 2 nights, but maybe you guys dont agree.

I like the pvp tournement, and the knowledge section, but im not so sure about the shit talking. That is a skill many people in UO probably lack, alot is due to the fact that shit talking to certain extremes on OSI would get you banned, so most avoided it.

Can you think of any other possible events?

The race could be ina town from one point to another but if we had malas i would say do it on the long ass brige[the white one].
