I never said that 4,300 square feet should cost X. I said that $750,000 for 4,300 square feet of home space isn't that great, keeping in mind that the home's location is not in the downtown district of a large metropolitan area. Instead, it's located in a fucking forest.

My point was that you're obviously paying a significant premium for the novelty of living in a former missile silo, and, that $750,000 in a similar location will get you a much larger home.

You're both sort of tools. You kind of did say, "it should cost X," (approximately) because you made a judgment on the value of the property. I'd bet heavily that at the time of your statement you knew little to nothing about the property values in the area. You absolutely knew nothing about the actual property value because no comparable properties exist. You speculated 100% on the value, based on what I can only assume was anectodal information at best. You spoke out of turn, which make you a tool.

On the other hand, this is also where you get off the hook a bit, because FC had no reason to compare the property to some uppity London fagflat (similar sq footage be damned), other than to bolster his own ego. FC took this as an opportunity to show us lowly "Americans" what inflated real estate in London looks like. It's god damned expensive to live in London! He must be rich! Ipso facto, FC is also a tool.

However, common sense seems to dictate that you are paying a higher price for the "luxury" of living in a missile silo. Sure it's cool as fuck, but if I'm spending my money, I'd rather get more space, regardless of how little or how much additional space that is.

The 2011 Razorcat. It's basically a super beefed up version of a 1911 Colt .45 (which I currently have and can attest to its badassery).
