Mr. Blonde 04-22-2009 01:04 PM

I was just laying in bed, not able to fucking sleep goddammit, contemplating opening up one of my books I haven't read. A few of them are biographical, and then i decided i wasn't going to read those. You know fucking why? Because those people fucking suck. I had this discussion with UB a couple days ago...kinda. I realize I hate reading books about other peoples lives because not only do they have to have the ego of a fucking retard to think they're important enough to write a book about their lives and that idiot people will read it, which they will (95% of the population also being fucking retarded), but also the more time I spend reading about THEIRS lives, the less time I am spending living my OWN life. This is also probably why i don't read other peoples blogs. I imagine this is the same reason why reality television is so popular among fucking idiots. I would rather read fiction or something informative; i spend a good portion of my day on wikipedia.

Now some of you might be saying "but mr. blonde, don't YOU have a couple blogs?". Why yes shithead I do, but one of them caters mostly to providing entertainment I stumble across on the internet and/or comical rants that I write mostly out of need for therapy, and the other is more cataloguing my journeys to my friends and family who want to read them. If nobody reads them I really don't give a shit, I enjoy having a website that looks nice and saying "hey, i did that. its not the best thing ever, but its still kinda cool" Think of it like lil wayne playing guitar in some of his music videos/songs; he's not that good, but i don't know too many blacks who can play the guitar, let alone drugged out millionaire rappers ones. he knows he's not hendrix, but he can play better than most black people.

tl;dr? - I finally realized why its so hard for me to read things about other peoples lives.

Black people are good at bass.

Ugly Bastard 04-22-2009 01:32 PM

I think you're over-reacting Blonde. There is still a lot of value in reading the auto-biographies of awesome people. It's inspiring and also allows you to pick and choose decisions they've made in their life that could enhance your own.

Mr. Blonde 04-22-2009 02:13 PM

name your top 3

SittinOnDubsWGW 04-22-2009 03:36 PM

This is easily at the top of my list. Crazy situations throughout. Also, his writing style is awesome.

Mark Twight, alpine climber, mainly a collection of articles he's written over the years and a current reflection on them.

These are really the only two that stick out at the moment. I read John McCain's book in college, Flags of our Fathers, was a decent read, but i would never consider it a favorite book.

EDIT: although questionable on authenticity, and exaggerated, throw this in the mix.

America fucked up so bad in electing Obama. I've said it before, and it's just rinse and repeat. He gave a speech today about a "new era" of energy and the stock market INSTANTLY dropped 3%. The market is the true man's voice and when Obama speaks, the market tanks.

Ugly Bastard 04-22-2009 07:06 PM

Into Thin Air is very good, though not an auto-biography. Regardless, you should def read it. Drawing a bit of a blank otherwise. Kudos on catching me off guard, but I still contend there is value in auto-biographies.

Artie Lang is a model human being you could learn a lot from him

Dent 04-23-2009 04:15 AM

I'm with UB on this, we are social animals, and understanding how another person views things can lead to you having a better understanding of yourself, plus it doesn't matter how much you read on wikipedia, you still won't know as much as a guy that specialises on the topic.
I barely read books, which sucks, cause I know a little about a lot.

Oh and Sittinondubs, if you enjoyed No Angels you might like this, wrote by a guy before he joined the Angels, and what shaped him into it, he's just finished writing his sequel of his 35 years in, if you (or anyone) wants a copy, pm.

Actually, the election is a true man's voice to be honest. The market is just an extreme over reaction of a small percentage of people.

Ugly Bastard 04-23-2009 11:53 AM

Jerad,

You're a great guy. Understanding the stock market is not a strong suit of yours yet.

Jerad,

I honestly feel a little sorry for you. I don't know how to help, but try to believe me when I say that your understanding of the world with respects to exchange of goods, services, ideas (even votes), and money is either non-existent or far from reality.

THEINCREDIBLEdork 04-24-2009 07:36 AM

Shaw, if I were you I would end my life asap, or brush up on my knowledge of exchange of goods.

DJ FC 04-24-2009 07:40 AM

Shaw,

You're worthless. Please stay off Nubblies.

Also go get smart.

THEINCREDIBLEdork 04-24-2009 08:12 AM

Hi, my name is Shaw. I don't know anything.

DJ FC 04-24-2009 08:18 AM

Jerad,

Do you see how clear it is that you don't know anything and everyone else knows everything? You should leave.

GWB

And its pretty fucking boring thus far. I'm not really giving it much of a chance mainly because it pisses me off how most "bikers" act, even after the short amount of time (>1yr) I rode before I sold it and moved out here. Especially in this book, but the guys talk like they're complete fucking hardasses when really its only the gang factor that anybody REALLY needs to be afraid of, I think any "normal" person who has the potential to reach a similar temperament to a "badass" when threatened can pose the same amount of danger to the person supposedly with the "badass" reputation, but 10 guys with boots kicking your ribs will shut you up real quick.

Same shit as back in highschool whenever somebody would say something about a guy who happened to be black which would warrant the response "watch out dude, that guy is dangerous/scary/will beat you up/blah blah blah". I've always loved hearing that kind of shit where people get reputations and others accept them blindly, mainly involving physical confrontation and therefore never cross them. Fuck that shit. The only situation this actually applies to REALLY is those who are TRAINED EXTENSIVELY with hand to hand combat, and for the most part those guys are the ones who have the most self-discipline/self control when it comes to physical confrontation anyways.

Fucking "bikers" piss me off.

I watched a history channel special on this guy -- personally I thought he was a self-aggrandizing blow-hard. He never really made it into the club, and that whole bit about taking pictures of a faked murder scene was lame. Really really lame. Only one of the real hells angels actually ever said he was "in" and the top guys became suspicious when they heard about the "murder" picture. Does he have balls? Yes, very much so. Do I respect him? Not really.

He's the type of undercover that movies love to sensationalize. We all clap and chear as the undercover detective busts some "low-lifes" head, not even considering the violations of personal liberty. I have very little respect for anyone in law enforcement who works in drug/vice squads. They extort and coerce people into doing things that could ultimately get them killed -- all under the pretense of "if you help me, I'll help you". Bullshit motherfucker. Those undercovers don't give two flying fucks if one of their CI's get's killed; it's just another dead lead for them (literally). As much as I fucking hate gangs, I have nothing but contempt and hatred towards anyone working as a drug/vice cop.

This used to be really true, now so many borderline nut cases have gotten into MMA and are running around just waiting for people to talk shit to them. They are starting the day half cocked and when you throw in a few beers and a couple of insults they are ready to go.

I really think you have the wrong idea, they get real bad publicity.
Any book you'll read about the Hells Angels will have been wrote to sell books.
Also, the idea isn't that 'we're tough guys' bullshit, they just stick together.

Incidentally my Dad has been in court the last few days over this
Armed bikies brawl at UK airport | theage.com.au
(the angels won't go to prison because they were at the airport for a legitimate reason, it wasn't organised)
