I think most people on the board would like this show. It's produced by Will Ferrell (who's already made a couple of appearances) and Adam McKay, and stars Danny McBride as an asshole pitcher in the MLB who loses some heat off of his pitches. He's such a pain to deal with, especially now that he doesn't have as much tallent, that no one will sign him. He goes back to the town where he grew up and becomes the middle school gym teacher.

It's on HBO and just started in February. I think there are only 5 episodes. Anyway, it's a good mix of humor. Kind of Talladega Nights meets Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Half way through the first episode...and it's fanfuckingtastic. He may be the best character of all time.

I've seen all five made thus far. I love the show to pieces, but also think that mb the character can't possibly have that long of a shelf life. That said, I'll be as happy as a Hindu cow if they can throw us another 15-25 episodes before ceasing production.

I don't get why that's necessarily something to be envious of. Was he especially cool and bought drinks and shot the shit with people? Or was he just in the corner of the room with his posse and your buddies counted that as partying with him? I just ask because it seems like so many people have a thin definition of things like "partying with" a celebrity just so they can brag to feel better about themselves that it makes the latter scenario seem possible.

Unfortunately, I've only seen the first couple episodes of Season 2. I did love them, though.

It's tough to say since most of season 2 has an entirely different cast than season 1 (with the obvious exception being Kenny and Stevie). The season 1 cast returns near the end of season 2. I do not recall Will Farrell being in season 2 which is obviously going to hurt it no matter what. Season 2 is not as good as season 1 imo, but still good.
