So I get out of my speech class today and thought to myself, hey I need some extra cash, I think I'll go sell my books. So I take my time and mosey on over to the book store. I walk in the front doors of the Isacc K. Beckes Student Union and get the books I want to sell. I have a mass communications book and a brand new advanced radio book that I want to sell back. The Mass communications book wasn't very expensive at all so I knew I wouldn't get very much out of that, but the advanced radio book was $90.00 I thought I would get a somewhat decent amount of money out of it. Well to my surprise both books were old editions. The book store wouldn't buy them back. After explaining to the dumb fuckers that the radio book was brand new and that I paid $90.00 for it, they still wouldn't buy it back. So I am stuck with two books that I will probably never use again in my life. So all I have to say is FUCK The Book Store and their jewish ways. They are nothing but a bunch of nigger loving fairy's and they deserve to die.

bookstores suck. NEVER sell your books back to the bookstore. i bought a precalculus book, at the beginning of last semester, for over $100. i got $10 back for it. only $10! from this experience, i have learned that half.com is the place to go for buying or selling your books, or check with other people you know to find out what books they need/have, so you can trade if possible. i got my calculus book ($150 in the bookstore) for $30 from one of my friends who decided to quit school and just wanted to get rid of the book cause he hated it so much. it always pays to ask around.

Your anger is misplaced. Bookstores only do what the professors tell them to do. Yes, bookstores make a pretty penny on used books, b/c that is their business; however, when your professor elects to use a newer edition instead, they are at fault for your anger.
A reason professors do this is to support each other. Most universities require their staff to be published once or twice each year; new editions of textbooks count as this. Especially when a prof has you buy their book for their class, they are making an assload on you. That's the system for you. |
