Do you ever have one of those dreams where, it's not really a nightmare, but something that you really don't want to happen (or expect to happen) actually does happen, and the dream is so life like that you find yourself thinking about it for extended amounts of time the next day? I did last night, and it's really pissing me off. I've become paranoid and I find myself constantly trying to figure out if this could actually happen...and even if it could happen, which is entirely possible, would it?

I've had some of those dreams. A couple times, right after the dream I've written it down just so I don't forget it. One time I had this dream that I was in this dorm with these other people and I couldn't talk but I had something really important to say to them. Sure enough, a couple days later, I was in that room and I was so stoned I couldn't talk but I had to tell them that RA's just walked by and HAD to smell the room as they walked by. Sure enough, cops came, dude got in trouble.

I've never had any of these dreams...every once in a while i have a dream about something that ends up happening (deja vu) but nothing extremely significant, just little blips. St. Anky does bring up a good point though, If I ever have a real fucked up dream, I write it down and look at it later and think about how fucked up that dream was...i had one about the end of the world once and it was just so fucking weird/real...but yeah write down your fucked up dreams. Thats all.

Anyone ever heard of lucid dreams? I've done quite a bit of research on them and it is very interesting. I had one a couple nights ago. It is where you take control of your dream. I had very small one I couldn't control my suroundings but I could control my actions. One of the first steps of taking control is writing down your dreams the next morning.
Dreams could be a glimpse of the future but most of the time they are just messages from your subconscious. |

really. Thats very interesting, i've heard of people doing that before but never myself experienced it...that would be badass if you could somehow get complete control over it...it'd be like an 8 hour video game

I've had a recurring dream where I have a body I need to get rid of. I usually don't remember killing the person, but there's a body, usually someone I know, in my immediate vacinity and I know that if I don't hide it I will be in a world of shit.
Last night it went something like this... I was sleeping on my couch, which I normally do, when a little blonde hottie who looked familiar walked in from the dining room waking me up. She was pissed off at me for something so without thinking I shot her in the face. Then I looked over at the love seat and one of her friends or a sister or someone was sitting there appaulled at what I had done. I tried to explain to her that it had to be done, but she didn't understand, so I shot her too. Oddly enough, there was no blood... wounds but no blood. Then someone knocks on my door... there I am with two dead bodies I need to get rid of fast. |

I have been able to take almost total control of my dreams for quite some time now. However; after doing so I usually wake up within a half hour to forty five minutes. That is why I don't sleep well, I dream and interact within them so often.

i don't control my dreams or anything, and i don't have dreams about dead bodies.. but what tonguegina said in his initial post about being pissed off because of a dream really struck a chord.
i had one just the other day, right before i woke up. somebody was being a jackass to me in the dream, and then they called me (in reality) and woke me up, so i was sort of pissy with them on the phone. i couldn't shake away the pissed off feeling i'd had for them in the dream. it was crazy. |

We can dance if we want to, we can leave your friends behind, because your friends don't dance and if they don't dance then they're no friends of mine.

Exactly. There ya go. That's the kind of shit I'm talking about right there underwater. For once, I'm proud of you for understanding what's going on.
----------------- VOL Dumb-down Generally, when I post after underwater it is to make fun of her stupidity. This time, however, is the first time that I appreciate her post. So what do I do? I reward her in hopes that this type of comment, that seeming came out of nowhere, will continue and possibly turn this low-grade poster (much like yourself) into a decent citizen of the Nubblies community. I have dreams of stuff that happens and upsets me, but it doesn't usually happen in real life. However on more than one occasion I've been known to bring it up to the person that pissed me off the following day.
As far as controling my dreams, I don't know if I can really control them, but I often find myself realizing that I am dreaming but I can't do anything about it. The other day I was taking a nap and I knew I wanted to wake up, but I couldn't, no matter how hard I tried. I could hear my roommate typing and so I tried to make noises, but I wasn't sure if any came out. After I finally woke up she informed me that I had indeed made some noises. Kinda odd.Oh, and my roommate thinks her dreams tell the future, and actually a few of them kind of have over the past week. freaky |

I work in a shitty store. this store has dressing rooms. before we leave someone has to go into the dressing rooms and open all the doors to see if anything was left in any of them. last night I had a dream that while doing this check, I found someone who had killed themselves... there was an initial shock, but instead of telling anyone that I had found the body, I quietly closed all the doors again and acted like I hadn't been back there (it's a shared responsibility, it's just supposed to be done). I clearly remember thinking that I knew if I said something, I'd probably have to be there all night talking to cops or something and I really wanted to leave.
I close tomorrow night... I'm gonna rush to the fucking dressing rooms as soon as we close. |

Stab:Thats fucked up dude. Hope nobody is dead back there. For real. And if there is, better hope no authorities find out about that post, because that makes you a prime suspect.
Sim: Yeah, I dont think I could handle not being able to wake up once I wanted to...when I realize I'm in a dream its always when something bad is happening...so I always make damn sure I wake up. A prof. I had last semester told me about a series of dreams he had where he couldnt wake up, but it was the same dream every time, and the dream just revealed a little more every time until he finished it, then asked a friend who was a psychiatrist who told him that its cause he's an alcoholic or something. Anyways, I think not being able to wake up from a dream would be scary as FUCK. |
