That's right, in November, the Red Hot Chili Peppers will be releasing a compilation album of their greatest songs, plus 2 new songs. I'm psyched. It will also have a dvd extra of music videos and live performances. Read more here at their offical web page.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers GREATEST HITS album highlights “Higher Ground” from their
1989 album Mother’s Milk, along with “Give It Away,” “Under The Bridge,” “Breaking The Girl” and “Suck My Kiss” from their 1991 Warner Bros. Records debut, Blood Sugar Sex Magik. From 1995’s One Hot Minute comes “My Friends,” while Californication selections include the title track, “Scar Tissue,” “Otherside,” “Parallel Universe” and “Road Trippin’.” Included from last year’s By The Way are the title track and “Universally Speaking.” Also, “Soul To Squeeze,” originally heard on the 1993 soundtrack to Coneheads has been made available for the very first time on a Red Hot Chili Peppers album.
The CD/DVD features videos of “Higher Ground,” “Give It Away,” “Under The Bridge,” “Suck My Kiss,” “Soul To Squeeze,” “My Friends,” “Scar Tissue,” “Otherside,” and “By The Way” as well as “Aeroplane” from One Hot Minute. Other videos on the CD/DVD include “Around The World,” and the title track from Californication along with “The Zephyr Song” and “Can’t Stop” from By The Way. The special edition will also include videos of “Road Trippin’,” and the track “Universally Speaking,” previously unavailable in the US.
Of course they leave out Shallow Be Thy Game and Deep Kick, both of which are my two favorite songs by them. Bastards.

This cd will begrudgingly be added to my collection anyway.

Shut Your Fucking Face.

call me old fashioned but I still think RHCP's greatest hits was entitled 'Blood Sugar Sex Magik".

VOL, I think instead of "Chairman of Great Communication", we should call you "Slaughterer of Discussion" or "Ender of all Good Conversation".....something along those lines.

Hey guys...have you heard this album yet? Oh yes...the two new songs...yes. Wow...

"Fortune Faded" and "Save The Population" are their names...and my are they good.

Edit: Oh Jesus they're good. Like...yeah they're new, but even if they were old, they'd still probably be on their Greatest Hits album.

I'm a really big fan of this album, even though it's a Greatest Hits album, some of the songs sound a little updated. I noticed a little something in a few of the songs. Nothing big, but just little differences in guitar work or something.

"Fortune Faded" and "Save the Population" are amazing. I really didn't expect them to be as good as they actually are.

I may be wrong here, but I think that Fortune Faded has already been released.

There is a video for at least one of them. I can't remember which one, but they were talking about it on the RHCP message board the other day.

Oh...and I was a little upset that they didn't have I Could Have Lied and Can't Stop on there. I expected them to be, since they play them at shows and all. Damn good songs...
