Very often, threads get badly sidetracked because Mr Blonde will say something silly, usually about atheism, and the rest of us will jump on it, and he'll write a novel in response, and the original thread gets lost. I propose that all Blonde-baiting be diverted here to a central thread. I'll let the masses debate what qualifies as Blonde-baiting.

(I'm not sure if it was allowed to just up and call something the Official thread, so I just did it.)

Every Tuesday at 3pm, I search my Facebook friends' statuses for "steak," "chicken," and "pork." If any of them mention eating it at a meal and liking it (without clarifying that they prefer ham, but it wasn't an option), I immediately delete them.

I can't have people with viewpoints like that in my life.

First off, spelling dude, jesus. Not the biggest deal in the world but take some pride in the English language.

Secondly, atheism is a religion like bald is a hair color.

I suggest you do more research on both apologetics and standard misconceptions about religion and atheism before you start defending faith-based beliefs so poorly.

I will not defend religious groups. And I won't defend your equally nutty atheist campaign. You're crazy. I mean that in a very serious and literal way. You get so worked up about atheism and science I'd honestly rather talk to an easy-going religious believer than you. When I say you are religious about your athiesm I mean it like this:

Treated or regarded with a devotion and scrupulousness appropriate to worship

It's not the primary definition, but it's a definition. And the one I wanted. You are a zealot:

A person who is fanatical and uncompromising in pursuit of their religious, political, or other ideals

And finally, you are a hypocrite. You blindly believe in absolutely no possibilty of God (something which Science will NEVER be able to definitively prove). And you justify this belief with science. All this is fine (and I share your views).

But then you deny any respect to those who believe in God because of their ignorant and unwavering views.

Why can't you just accept the fact that science will never prove or disprove a God and hate the religious right for being what they are: poor dumb hicks? Then you wouldnt have to hate them for being ignorant and unwavering when you are ignorant and unwavering in your beliefs (we all are - this is human). You don't know there isn't a god Blonde. We will probably never know.

So I suggest one of 2 things:

Continue to be atheist and hate stupid people for being stupid and making poor arguments. But don't hate them for believing in something.

Or

Don't believe there can't be a god, but hate those who do believe.

It seems a contradiction to me to ardently believe there is no possible god while logically finding fault in those who do believe in a god.

Couldn't be a more false statement. Never have said this in my entire life, and 95% of atheists do not share this view. Anybody who considers themselves an iota of being scientifically minded can't possibly exclude the possibility of a deity. There is just absolutely no evidence whatsoever to substantiate it currently; therefore, I can say I am thoroughly unconvinced of a deity, and vehemently argue against one. Any qualms you have with me on this view you also have with some of the greatest minds of history (whose shoulders I am grateful to stand on).

I have never said I "know", chief. This isn't about "knowing" whether there is a god, as by very definition it is impossible to disprove the concept. But in dealing with probabilities, it is better to continue to try and educate people. I admit my harshness in the past is unbecoming (of which you seem to be taking from an older version of me, as being critical does not mean being harsh), and I am working on viewing and treating most of humanity (not as dumb hicks, rather) as dumb, lumbering, emotional beasts.. Sure, they could be your best friend, but you have to understand that they probably are very prone to emotional outbreaks and must be treated with care. But every once in a while, even a friendly beast lashes out, and in your own human emotional outrage, you have to rap the fuck out of the beasts nose.

Blonde, what's put you into this militant atheist streak you've been on?

Every single person you ever meet will have at least one inconsolable belief that you do not necessarily believe in, but you can at least understand their position and still gain something from their friendship.

Examples: my girlfriend gets super sad at even the thought of her dog dying some day ... it literally might as well be her child. I didn't grow up on a farm, but I am one generation off the farm and I view animals as possessions - if it dies, it sucks ... but I am not going to be any more heartbroken than if my PS3 broke. We don't agree on the place of animals, but we are still able to understand where the other person is coming from.

I once had a boss who was A. Catholic and B. a lesbian. She was able to overlook the fact that the church she was a part of thought her existence was a sin but refused to believe in dinosaurs. She literally said "I don't believe in dinosaurs." This was absolutely mind blowing to me, at first I had a hard time taking anything she said seriously ... but over time I realized that she still had intelligent things to say in other areas.

The point: the sooner you just accept that the world is absolutely full of humanity and that humanity is fundamentally flawed, the more at peace you will be with it. People are fucking stupid. People cannot deal with things in general. People NEED reasons for bad things happening and something to believe in, even if its probably not true. You will never "convert" someone to atheism, literally every self proclaimed atheist I have ever met came to that conclusion on their own.

Did she ever go to confession, only the priest was a chick, and she started confessing all the hot lesbian stuff that she did, and then the priest, who's like a buttoned-up brunette with her hair tied up, goes into the other side of the confession booth and they totally get it on.
