Victor Cruz of the NY Giants tweeted that, " I give it less then a year before the hood catches up to him." Roddy White said " Hope the jurors go kill themselves." In an instant response type of society, these players put their true feelings on twitter, thinking nothing of it. It's who they are, but apparently the media doesn't want them to be themselves.
Before a game, halftime, and after the game, the media circus surrounds athletes. Camera's and recorders, shoved down the throat of a player that they want to be candid. No cookie cutter responses, just be yourself. Now, after players open themselves up to their personal life via social networking, being yourself doesn't cut it for the media. These players were both told to apologize, and explain how their emotions got the best of them. IMO, to much correcting of emotional comments, is going to turn everyone into robots. It took one search on Saturday night to find out how big of deal this case was to the black community, fair or unfair. Seeing the candid responses of 2 players well respected in the league, made my ears perk up a bit. |

No, I haven't. The more I read my work, the more it sounds amateurish. I think that putting together my own, and just doing it as something that's fun would be more enjoyable. I definitely appreciate your efforts, I just don't think I can just jump into the ring and box, and hold my own.
