Dude just watch the video again and notice the rate and speed at which he is coming in and then imagine him hitting the ground directly with his body. He would bounce and be dead on impact.

I don't know what the actual MPH impact is, but it's head on. Assuming that the natural, terminal human velocity is what I'm conservatively guessing (given the slowing of the suit) is AT BEST still around 60 MPH. My extensive experience in the motorcycle injury field leads me to believe that he would have been liquified. Not just dead, liquified.

We need to figure out just how much force those boxes dissipate. I guy I used to work with drove his bike through a deer at 140, shattered every bone from his knuckles to his elbow.

He deployed really early (smart) and tandem canopies descend really slowly. He was probably up there for 10+ minutes with that woman strapped to him likely being completely hysterical if not also continuing to present a challenge that she wouldn't fall out of the harness. That must have sucked.

I've never seen or heard of anyone needing to be physically forced out but I would say as a protocol it's probably abnormal for a tandem master to do that when the passenger is very obviously refusing to get out of the plane.
