![]() I recently acquired a copy of Bill Kovach's latest (and only, as far as I know) cd. Entitled Highlights, I must say that the disk has quite a few catchy tunes. I'm a shitty reviewer, so I'm not even going to try. What I will do is upload all the tracks to Nubblies for you to download.
You may notice that they have low bitrates. This is because the songs weren't really recorded with super equipment. Rest assured, lowering the bitrate did nothing to the quality. I ripped two songs, one at 192k, 44.1hz and one at 64k/22hz and they sounded identical. So yeah, download this and review it...it's pretty cool. If you're not going to get them all, I strongly suggest #3, #9, #11, #15, and #16 as the best (in my opinion). Go have some fun. Bill Kovach - Highlights 1. Mary Go Round 2. Hanky Man 3. Salesman 4. Birthday Suit 5. Reap the Reaper 6. Aeolian Mood 7. Harry B. Hines 8. Hap part I 9. Wildflower 10. Long Walk 11. Where I Want to Be 12. I'm with You 13. Pink Panther 14. Fantasy Wreck 15. The Tram 16. Cool to Be Kind 17. Snow Day 18. Back on Track Kovach plans to perform Snow Day and Wildflower @ the variety show...so go listen. If you have any comments you'd like to send to him, he's reachable at allaboutbill@hotmail.com. On a sidenote, whilst listening to Wildflower, it's imperative that you sing alone with the chorus... On another sidenote...if you're reading this from nubblies.com (as opposed to blueoptic.nubblies.com) and none of the links work...send me a pm. That just means that I forgot to update this after things got back to normal. On that note, I'm glad things are back to normal ![]() [This message has been edited by Orgazmo (edited January 18, 2003).] |

![]() I tried... honestly, and deep down I wanted to like it, because local music is one of those things that you should support...
I tried Wildflower and Snow Day, and well, they would be better if they were just instrumental, the vocals and lyrics are detrimental to the music. It just wasn't working for me, but it's still better than anything I could come up with myself right now. |

![]() Oh thank god!
Thank you victim... I couldn't bring myself to say anything. I listened to about half of them before I gave up... all good musical ideas flowing throughout, but I can't say they were accomplished all that successfully. I agree that they would probably be stronger as instrumentals... I'm not a huge fan of the vocalizing. But I'm really picky in that area. A valiant effort... why is it that the vocalist is a.) the last thing a band looks for 2.) as a result, very bad d.) very hard to find if you're looking for any talent but don't want a choir voice |

![]() heheheh... eh...
yeah... it happens when you're anxious to make music then i guess... for some reason it's not realized that vocals are just like any other part of a band... if you had a drummer who couldn't keep time, would you want him in your band? |

![]() Oh it's certainly not going to go platinum...but I think that it has some reasonably catchy tunes. It should be noted that he's not trying to get big with this or anything...he just recorded some of his songs and gives out cds to whoever wants them.
Also, this isn't his band as much as it's just him (and, in some songs, some other guys) messing around having some fun. In the band that he's part of, Joe's Garage, his only vocals are backup in some songs. I'm still a fan of ya, Kovy ![]() |

![]() I strongly suggest this album to anyone and everyone. It is one pimplick of an album. Anyone who says otherwise can burn in hell. Kovy, you're the man, don't let anyone else tell you different. And the vocals may not be the strongest, but he tried.

![]() Alright, I'll just be completely honest here.
I don't really give a damn about Bill Kovach's band. I don't know Kovach, I'm sure he's a cool guy and everything, but that doesn't change the fact that I don't know him. So how about you tell me which of the above songs is the most download-worthy, and I'll get that one. First person to name a song, merits the download. -Ugly Bastard |

![]() As a fan of Bill and one who speaks to him often about his music, I can report that he's quite surprised you all weren't harsher (as you usually are about everything else). He never intended the music really be heard by anyone beyond his friends and family as it is just a hobby.
He would also like to add to both of his fans, "ROCK ON!!" |

![]() plain and simple: Bill kovach is the man. he is the one teacher i could actually hang out with on the weekends.
lando is a pussy face though. i mean who is this guy. he is not nearly as cool as billiam kovachie. billy is a great guy who likes to pretend he is cool. one time i saw him try to jump up and touch the ceiling. now how many of you can say that. im going to guess only 2. wildflower/tram/cool to be kind are my favorites. i will be singing along with billium at his next concerts. btw orgazmo. i think he has a few smaller cds. in fact i know he has given some to his family as presents. he will also be coming out with a new cd soon. something that im looking forward to. in closing. Fuck all the kovach haters and fuck lando, the guy is a douche bag. lando, please dont let this comment hurt your feelings. i know you are a sensitive guy |

![]() Brass, I'm sure Kovach is a really cool guy and everything, but could you please remove your mouth from his cock? Seriously, I've never seen so much ass kissing in one paragraph in my entire life.
You brag about how well you know Kovach like he's a fucking celebrity, seriously, he's a goddamn English teacher, not that there is anything wrong with it, quite an honorable occupation in my opinion. But seriously, you dont need to brag that you've seen him jump and touch the ceiling, I still don't get what the fuck your point was with that. In closing, If I were Kovach, I'd hate you. My best guess is that you're one of the gay kids that are always up in a cool teacher's face talking to them, or as most people see it, annoying the shit out of them. He probably hopes you die, I would if I were him. [This message has been edited by 50 Cent (edited January 28, 2003).] |

Personally, Kovach is one of my alltime favourite teachers (mostly because of his intelligent humour that about 5% of the class would understand). I don't even hate his music, it's just not what I'm going to put into my CD player on a long car trip, that's all. [This message has been edited by Titan (edited January 30, 2003).] |

As a person and teacher, I respect the guy, and I respect his passion for his "music", but I sure as hell don't like it, maybe he'll be better live at the variety show. |
