Into the Void. It was suggested to me by netflix and had 4.5/5 stars, so I gave it a shot. It's an independent film about a drug addict who gets caught up in a drug bust and gets shot and killed by the Tokyo police. The rest of the movie is from the perspective of his spirit floating around and I suppose is supposed to mirror the experience of post-death. There's the initial white light, then the "life flashes before your eyes part," etc. The problem is, they took an interesting concept and fucked it up. By the time I got tired of the artsy bullshit (way to frequent and lasted way too long), and was ready for the movie to be over, there was still a fucking hour left! I didn't even finish it, and I don't suggest you try to either.

Dogtooth. 2011 Academy Award Nominee for Best Foreign Film.
Fucking stupid. Centers around a husband and wife who seem to be homeschooling their three teenage children. However, their schooling is bizarre to say the least and the parents intentionally give them false information. They all live on a compound and the kids have never left it. Dad brings home a female security guard for junior to fuck, but blind folds her on the trips to the compound. Blindfolds galore throughout the movie. The guard ends up getting hot for the eldest sister and trades things like hairband for oral sex. However the guard gets fired from this job by dad and junior chooses eldest sister to replace her as sex toy. Sex galore --which normally would be good. but these are some of butt ugliest people ever. Bizarre movie to the point of being stupid. |

Sucker Punch. Not sure how or why they fucked this movie up, but they did. There are a few AWESOME scenes in the beginning, but I think they tried to go too deep with he plot and ruined it. Almost nothing makes sense. I was drinking vodka while watching it, but was still sober enough that any acceptable plot would have been followable.

This movie is the epitome of everything wrong with CGI. Snyder decided to make a movie and his stream of consciousness went a little something like this: I want to make a movie => I want it to have an emotionless blond girl with pigtails in a school girl outfit => and I want her to fight Nazi zombie robots => and I want her to fight a dragon! => oooh and a trio of giant samurai, one of which has a gatling gun! => add in contrived plot to tie above desires together This film is amazing evidence against the idea that just because you CAN do something doesn't mean you SHOULD.
