Mostly everybody knows that Ctrl+T opens up a new tab your browser.
Not many people know that Ctrl+Shift+T opens up tabs you have closed in succession. One time opens up the last tab you closed out of (for me, many times on accident). Five times opens up the last 5 you had open. |

Psychedelics are illegal not because a loving government is concerned that you may jump out of a third story window. Psychedelics are illegal because they dissolve opinion structures and culturally laid down models of behavior and information processing.

Why are women with multiple sexual partners deemed "sluts" by society, but a man with multiple sexual partners deemed a "pimp"? It comes down to social biology.
A woman has a finite amount of reproductive units, the egg. I'm not sure on the exact numerical approximation, but it's probably somewhere around 500 eggs per lifetime. Because of this, a woman's reproductive unit has value. Less value is placed on each unit with each successive sexual partner, to the point where the reproductive unit is considered "wasted". On the contrary, a man has an infinite number of reproductive units, and therefore no value is placed on an individual unit. By having multiple sexual partners a man has not wasted or devalued anything. |

After re-reading your original post, I think it has less to do with what I was talking about than I originally thought. I would guess that the double standard is more of a social construct based on the majority of the world historically being pretty patriarchal, and some smart dudes in 2000+ BC doing us modern guys a solid by starting it.

Studies show that residents of New York are 55% more likely to die from ischemic heart disease than the population at large. Out of state visitors are 38% more likely to die from it while visiting than if they'd stayed at home, and long-term residents who move away from NY reduce their likelihood by 20%.

"The sixth sick Sheik's sixth sheep's sick" is considered the english language's hardest tongue twister by the guiness book.
And... (related) There exist tongue twisters in sign language too. They are called finger fumblers. |

A while ago someone posted a video about pennies being useless. True, you can't even use them in tollbooths in 49 states. But you can use them in Illinois. Why? Because that's Lincoln's state.

There is nothing more joyful than throwing a fist full of pennies at full blast into the basket at the toll booth.

Just had an office debate about the correct usage of "burnt" vs "burned". Basically it depends on if the adjective is referring to the primary ("-ed") or secondary ("-t") subject of a phrase. So you would say "I burned the toast" because the subject is "I" in that phrase, but you would say "I don't like burnt toast" because toast isn't the subject of that sentance.
So it is proper to say "Stay out of my kitchen or you're going to get BURNED." Not burnt. |

Can someone please check this IP to ensure there aren't any Oregonian account hackers around? I would just feel safer knowing that people will never mistake me for Repug.
