Also, you may want to have the chats with only the competitors, and a moderator. Because, come on, people are gonna start coming in and chatting along, making dumb comments, and whatnot. Perhaps it would be better to just have the two people and a moderator, then to post the conversation afterwards for us to vote on. And that way, if somebody mentioned a name, that could be edited out, and stuff like that.

I don't believe so. I believe the monitor should choose who gets to watch, based on their reputation as being hospitable and rule-abiding on the boards. So that people can have the thrill of watching, because i'd love to watch.

I'm a fan of both rla's and fruit's ideas. Either way I'm happy, though i am leaning much more towards fruits idea, maybe there is a way to "mute" all other onlookers to the verbal battle?
It would be very interesting to see how fast each return is given (giving the judges a new perspective on how to total scores). A live shit talking would be amazing, it almost makes me happy to the point of ejactulation. i hope one will be initiated soon |

Alpha, if there would be a way to mute everyone else, that would be prime. Yes, that would be the best way to do it. Watching this as it happened would be quite nice.
However, I also think that people should be able to vote after-the-fact, or at least be able to read the dialogue. I guess it's up to the people who run things around here. |

I think it would work to take fruit's idea and make it so that if anyone makes a comment of any kind or interferes, they should be booted from the chat, also afterwards is should be posted for those who weren't fortunate enough to see the live OST

i think it is going to be hard to hide the identity of the shit talkers i mean all someone has to do is to get on a different messenger or PM either of the shit talkers and find out which number they are or what there secert name is and then they can use favoritism and vote for there friends so they win. and same with just having the 2 people shit talk in advance and then post it later they can then do the same thing and just find out from there friend which shit talker they were and vote that way. im not trying to say that its not a good idea with the code names cuase its a great idea just think there should be a different way so that no one knows who is who.

That is a good point, but total anonimity will be really hard to achieve, because people will probably tell their friends which is which at some point or another. I think that this isn't exactly a setup for a totally unbiased shit-talk, but more of a higher difficulty shit-talk, because coming up with responses on the fly is harder, so its a test of natural wits and intellectual compacity.

Favoritism is something i really don't think you need to worry about that much to be honest. Everyone isn't going to swing votes to a guy because he's cool... Mainly I'm just saying if someone gets their ass kicked, the scores will show. Let alone there really never has been a situation so far in the OST's, that i can see, where favoritism lead to a win/loss situation.
Also, maybe the voting should be reduced from 5 to 3? That way you have less opportunity to give your friends an extra vote that they might not deserve? Just an idea... |

Another point would be that besides just eliminating response time, it leaves a ton of time for people to make their opinions after the fact, because they'd be able to go back and see each shit talker's points on a whole, instead of having to wait and see what the next person will say. With people having time to express their judgements, that might spawn more shit talking because of disagreements between others on who may or may not have won. Also, live is just more exciting. Im sorry, ill shut up now.
