Griffin/Ortiz I thought was kinda bad but it was nothing in comparison to Hamil/Bisping.

In terms of big fights: Ricco Rodriguez vs Antonio Rodrigo Nogueria was pretty bad and was very important, Fedor vs Arona was very close and probably should have went the other way and was important in that it kept Fedor basically undefeated. | |

I have been judging UFC almost twice as long as any other active judge. I am a former kick boxer and have been training grappling for 13 years. I am not here to argue with any of you or tell you that your opinion is wrong. I am only going to tell you why I judged the fight the way I did. Watch the fight again and turn off the sound. Commentary can color what you see. No doubt Bisping dominated the 1st. He hurt Bisping with a right hand right off the bat and again near the end of the round. He out scored Bisping and busted him up. It was a very impressive round for Hamill but still a 10-9 round. Not dominate enough for a 10-8. Watch the beginning of the second round closely. When Hamill throws the jab, Bisping slips the punch and hits him with his own counter jab. It is hard to see on camera because Hamill's back is to the camera. His back was also to Goldie who was talking like the beginning of this round was like a continuation of the 1st. If you look you will see that Hamill is facing me giving me a clear view of what is landing. Bisping was landing the jab again and again and not getting hit. Hamill got 2 takedowns in rounds 2 and 3 but did very little with them. Bisping is using an active guard trying to turn for armbars and sweeps, Hamill is doing very little on top. Bisping is keeping him from scoring or improving his position. In the 3rd round Bisping actually lands more punchesd from the bottom than Hamill does from the top. In both the 2nd and 3rd rounds Bisping does more scoring. Striking. Under pride style scoring Hamill would have won. He did more damage, but it was all in the 1st round. By 10 point must system Bisping won the fight 2 rounds to 1 . 29-28 Bisping. Sometime the angle you see the fight effects your decision. That is why they put the judges on 3 different sides. BY THE WAY MARIO YAMASAKI THOUGHT BISPING WON ROUNDS 2 AND 3 ALSO. MARIO WAS THE REF AND HAD A BETTER VIEW THAN ANY OF US. I have never taken a payoff as some of you have suggested and never will. You may not agree with my decision but please don't question my honesty. Thank you Jeff Mullen |

I feel so confused...
...I think Chuck's time is up. We all knew he was going to burn out soon, given his reputation as a late night party guy. I figured he had another year or so left in him of being a top 3 LHW, but obviously not. I hope he fights one or two more times just to make sure, but if he keeps losing he'll just tarnish his legacy. He's still the greatest LHW champ of all time as of right now. With Forrest and Shogun, personally, I suspect Shogun will never be as good as he was in Pride, nor will the majority of Pride guys, because they were all juiced up. It's a well known fact Pride didn't test for Roids. As for Forrest, it's still difficult to guage where he's at. I think another win over a top guy though puts him in line for a title shot. This was a historical show in the sense that the changing of the guard has begun. |

How can you say that you are still uncertain where Forrest is at??? Tonight he showed he can battle on the ground and on his feet. I had a hard fucking time getting the PPV at my place. I got it just in time for the Griffin Rua fight. I'm re watching the entire PPV til 4 a.m. Griffin showed he has improved so much on the ground, which was my concern. Rua was gassed, as everyone said and saw, after about 1:50 into the 2nd round. I just watched the Diego Sanchez fight, and I don't see how Fitch was a 30-27 winner with the first judge. Sanchez, at the least, won round 3. He put together 3 of the best submisson attempts I have seen in a long time. Liddelll isn't done. He trimmed down a bit for this fight. He still had a gut, but he trimmed down a bit. He has never been a solid MMA figher, but he has been a guy with a nasty right hand. I would love to see Jardine Griffin II, with the winner fighting Rampage. Call me crazy, and I am a HUGE Griffin fan, but I think Forrest could rock Rampage. Overall, 76 was a great PPV. I'm happy I bought it and am still watching it as we speak. Im going to watch the Rua-Griffin fight one more time!!!! If you want to see MMA at its best, watch the Sanchez-Fitch fight. Amazing MMA. AMAZING

We can't guage here Griffin is at because it's difficult to tell where Shogun was at. He's clearly not the same guy who won the 2005 gp. On top of that he's coming off a loss to Keith Jardine, who was coming off a loss to Houston Alexander. The fact of the matter is the whole 205 division is pretty unrankable right now.
1. Rampage 2. Hendo 3. ? 4. ? 5. ? All we can say is that Griffin is back in the winning circle, and back in the mix. |

You are wrong. Griffin had won his last fight. He was a different fighter in that fight. He has showed in his last 2 fights, he is no longer a stand up brawler. He can do that with anybody. He can now go to ground, and he is just getting better. He is fighting out of Courture's camp now. Couture has taught him alot of ground work, and he will keep on teaching. Griffin vs. Alexander his next fight will be awesome. I love Alexander's striking, but he hasn't be able to get to the ground to prove that part of his fighting. I don't think Hendo is number 2 in that class. He went the distance with Rampage, which is impressive, but the entire fight was centered around him walking around Rampage's right hand. I think if a fighter takes it to either one of them, it will be a great fight. Rampage is just like Kimbo. ( Youtube.com street fighter. Big nigger who has heavy fist) Keep him away with the jab and avoid the right, plus firing off combinations and a soild fighter can take him!!

For real. You're what we call a "tuff noob", Jared. I'd even put Belfort, Overeem, Sergie, little Nog and Tito over Bonar. Probably a lot of other fights I'm not even thinking of, too.

Yeah, I'm relitively new to the new UFC. I was a bigger fan back when it first started. Although, at least I know what happened in Griffin's last fight. Might be a noob, but I call it like I've seen it in the past 3 years. Evans does deserve to be up there, but he is black, so I felt I should screw him over in my rankings. McNabb says we all do it!!

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a new middleweight champion, and he's not a jab and runner, he's a fucking puncher. If you have HBO you need to catch this fight when it runs again or when it gets to ondemand, incredible stuff, throwback to the times of hearns, hagler, Graziano, Zale, LaMotta......its good shit, and its good for boxing. |
