no matter where miami ends up, im pretty sure dorsey will win. no one is fabulous this year, he just has an amazing college record. final prediction - dorsey wins
buckeye - national championship/rose bowl, pretty much the same thing back then |

johnson preformed well against michigan state, who cares. The big tens teams that actually have defense, iowa, ohio state, and michigan, all held LJ to an average of 70 yards in a game. Thats sad. If he gets it it puts to shame every other running back before him.
Dorsey should win it, miami's team was polled on who they think should win heisman on their team dorsey, or maghee. It was a clear landslide in favor of dorsey. As long as miami wins out he will get it, is he the best college football player, probably not, but he is a team leader for a team with one of the nations longest winning streaks. Brown from colorado is a far more deserving canidate than johnson ever could be. so what if he had almost 300 yrds in a half and maybe could have broken the 500 yrd bayer, it doesn't matter. buckeye put it well, he just doesn't perform against anyone that actually has a defense

Lethal, i would have agree with you on kingsbury had he not played so bad against oklahoma. It was the biggest game of the year for the red raiders, and kingsbury choked, he couldnt get it to his recievers, and when he did they couldnt catch the ball. Had they beaten the sooners i believe he would be the clear cut choice for the heisman trophy.

I don't really remember the count, but i was watching PTI the other day and they said somethign like Kingsbury as at least 15 more touchdowns than anyone else. He whould win the heisman, will he though? No, Dorsey will win it because he is the quaterback fo the "best" team in the nation. I don't want Dorsey to win the award but he will. I hope i am proven wrong but i dont think i will be.

thats brings up a good point lethal. Statistically kingsbury kicks the shit out of every quarterback in the nation. However the quaterback is seen as the leader of a football team, and therefore the quaterback's skills, and leadership abilities, are associated with the team's overall win/loss record. This is why dorsey is the clear cut favorite in the heisman, he is viewed by outsiders and his teammates alike as the reason the hurricanes have won their last 33 games. Kingsbury on the other hand, his team doesnt have the best record, i would argue that his defense is a big reason for this, but in the eyes of heisman voters, as along as Miami wins out the rest of thier season with dorsey at the reigns, he'll be the one taking the trophy home.

I can do nothign but agree with you Buckeye. I feel the only reason Dorsey will win is becuase the people who surround him. I could win the Heisman with the team he has. I can't agrue though, he's gonna win, nothing more to it.

well...i do think that dorsey will probably win it, but i disagree with who they pick as the candidates anyways. i mean i do know that the quarterback is the leader of his team, but does he really contribute anything special that he shouldn't already have to be expected to achieve?? a quarterback should already be able to bring his team to great things and in tight situations bring his team to victory. the true candidates should be the wide-receivers and running-backs that have to raise themselves to levels to get past defenders. it's the same situation as MLB where the leaders (pitchers) are in a catagory of their own (cy young award) compared to the other athletes on the team. like wise quarterbacks are in their own catagory, should they really be compared to the level of play that the rest of the skilled players are?? if a quarterback has an outstanding year..that's good, but if a running-back has a great year, that means more for the team and therefore should get more recognition...which the heisman trophy is about.

in all reality, dorsey will probably get it. becuase the heisman is for the best player in the country and not the "leader" of the best team.
my top 3 picks for heisman winners would be as followes 1) Brown --HB--Colorado 2) Kingsbury --QB--Texas Tech 3) McGahee --HB--Miami Honorable Mention -- Carson Palmer--QB--USC --Some Ken Dorsey kid from Miami |
