Notre Dame fired Tyrone Willingham today, after 3 fucking seasons of being a coach. Three seasons, he didnt even get to graduate one class, hell his seniors were still Bob Davie recruits. Watching his teams vs Bob Davies teams it was obvious how much better coached they were, Davies teams were plagued by turnovers and mistakes that cost the Irish victories. Ty just needed more time and hell just one class to go through his system to turn the program around.

What little respect i had for ND before the firing, is gone, for a University that prides itself on such great tradition its ironic that this is the first time a ND coach has been fired in 3 years since 1933. More importantly if you remember correctly one of the main reasons Bob Davie was fired (aside from his record) was due to unacceptable preformance by some of his athletes. Yet im almost certain Ty has done a better job in this department, and still maintained a similar record on the field. Its obvious i think that ND would rather be a football factory than an academic institution, so why dont they go ahead and lower their academic standards, and quit bullshitting the country with their double standards.

Maybe they can convince Holtz to unretire and actually cause that "return to glory" they aren't living up to.

They should/will get Meyer, the Utah coach, he has a Notre Dame clause in his contract for christ's sake.

I think they will, but he might be more hesitant now since they fired Ty in 3 years. He is going to have even higher expections, and will be on the chopping block if his record is anywhere near that of his Davie's or Ty's. Whomever the new coach will be they have their work cut out for them, Notre Dame doesnt have much talent on their team to work with.

As a Notre Dame fan I think they should bring in Butch Davis, former coach of the Cleveland Browns. Hopefully, he could have the same affect that Pete Carroll has on USC.

Would you rather have Davis or Meyer? They're both pretty good candidates.

Urban Meyer may be a good coach, but everyone is all about this guy only because Utah is undefeated. Utah hasn't played many worthy teams so I would jump to question his ability with a higher level program like Notre Dame who has a tougher schedule than Utah.

Butch Davis has been battle tested when he used to coach the University of Miami. So I think he will be the best fit for Notre Dame, that is if they don't release him within 3 years of a contract that is supposed to take him through a whole recruiting class.
