Do you consider Bobsleading a sport? I'm sure they sweat when they train, but during a competition i highly doubt they sweat.

I believe a sport is anything that a good portion (more than just half) of participants are extremely competitive or winning or losing could be a matter of pride.

If you think about this definition (I have not consulted a dictionary, I'm talking about the connotations of the word 'sport' not its literal meaning), it fits pretty precisely things we would expect to be a sport, and things we wouldnt.

For example: Checkers is not a sport, most players are not extremely competitive or take it as a matter of pride. Checkers is a game.

Eucher is a sport. Chess is a sport. Halo is a sport. While these things aren't athletics, they are still on the same level as athletics when it comes to competition.
