as soon as i would see it--it'd be stuck in my head...you can't get rid of something that is so fucked up...

dad was telling me about a cop that was walking around in that factory that got shot up a while ago (was on CNN)...about teeth, and parts of jaw laying around..

..anything where body is torn apart like it's not supposed to be is sick..

Well I was pondering whether to watch those videos or not, but then everyone said that rotten.com was "alot worse" or really bad or whatever, yeah, the videos must be a cake walk then, rotten.com doesn't even give me nightmares.

Seeing a ripped apart decomposing body doesn't phase me at all, I don't see why it would bother anyone, unless of course it was someone you knew. Otherwise it's just a bunch of flesh made out of a bunch of tissue made out of a bunch of cells. I suppose if you knew the story behind it, like if they were brutally murdered, that could creep you out, but seeing the body shouldn't freak you out any more than knowing that it happens to thousands of people per day. Now if that body you were gazing upon happened to be ripped apart while the person was still alive, and they happened to be showing that by excessive twitching and convulsing, that would fuck you up.

How can you say someone is just a bunch of cells? Each and every one of those people is an intregal part of the world. They might be a husband, wife, father, mother, son, daughter, boyfriend, girlfriend, or countless others. They had hopes and dreams, good times and bad times, but most of all, they had potential. Every life lost may be the loss of a cure for cancer, a Grammy winning artist, or a superstar athlete. That is why you should feel sick every time you see something like that. Each of those people was important and had potential, and now it's gone. Wasted.

Or...that person could have been a thief, a rapist, a murderer. That person could have been the guy that commits a crime and then frames you, sending you to prison for half of your life. That person could have been the burglar that broke into your house and kidnapped your 2 year old daughter. She could be the bitch that seduced you while you were drunk and gave you multiple STD's. Their death could have been a gift to society. Sure they had potential...but it may have been a potential detriment. I guess there's a flipside to everything.

That really depends on what makes a "bad" person. Sure, there are more people that would decline the opportunity to put a bullet in your skull than would accept...but if your "bar of badness" is quite a bit lower, which is very well may be, I'm conident that you could find a majority on the dark side.

silver and cold: Bad news is much more interesting to people than good new is. Although some find good news inspirational, bad news will grasp one's attention for longer because as humans, apparently we love tragedy. Using the news as an example isn't really a good idea.

As far as my views go, I guess i believe that there is some good in everybody. I'm sure that is up for debate, but as far as I see it you're both wrong.
