I've been looking into this and from what I've read it can be done. Does anyone know anything about beating a polygraph test or know any reliable sources on this subject?

All I know is: They suck dick.
I had to take one a while back, I have never tried a drug of any sort (other than alcohol and caffeine and maybe like 2 cigars) in my whole life, yet I kept failing the "have you consumed any illegal drugs before?" question. The guy just kept telling me that the machine was saying I was lying, so I just turned to him, looked him right in the eye, and was like "look, I have NEVER done a single drug in my life. Your machine is broke. Sorry, but it is. I have NO reason to lie to you if I had a little pot at some point in time. I've come clean about everything else, why would I lie about something meaningless like drugs?" And he's like... "hmm... good enough for me, alright you pass". No less, I hated the whole test. Very invasive and stressful. -Ugly Bastard |

I know they do suck, I read that some people just cant take them because they are too nervous of people. I am trying to get this job and one of the requirements is a polygraph. Needless to say I HAVE done drugs and for this position you have to have a pretty clean record and drug history.

Yeah i hatd to take one for the same reason UB did, and it really really sucked. They make you feel like shit for the smallest things, you leave feeling like you raped a child or something.

Psychedelics are illegal not because a loving government is concerned that you may jump out of a third story window. Psychedelics are illegal because they dissolve opinion structures and culturally laid down models of behavior and information processing.

from what i understand, you have to disrupt your system to give inconsistent readings. it ususally involves pain (like putting icy hot on you balls). |

From what I've read one guy posted how he passed by lying about things he didnt need to in order to throw off the tester and bitting his tounge when he wasn't lying to disrupt his nervous system. There are "common" questions that the tester will ask just to get a feel of your reaction and at times the tester will lie to you telling you the machine is off when its not and then claim that he is turning it on when it already is on. I have also heard from people of the tack in the shoe and or a pointy rock but have not read anything on these sites about it. I think the way to pass is to know what you will be asked and how to react to certian questions. There is an e-book I might download.

If Im going to tell the complete truth I might as well not even persue this career. Why waste my time taking a test I know I will fail? Would you take a test unprepared knowing you were going to fail or would you study with the hopes of passing?

Really, I hope your not going to become a cop. Talk about being a bad cop, you would probably be too busy brushing your hair and checking yourself out in the mirror to prevent any crimes.
