yes, I can see how it would be so hard to understand how to make a call out from another country. I mean, it's not like thre isn't such a thing as INTERNATIONAL OPERATORS, who tell you what to do when you pick up the phone. I think they only had those when I was in Europe, but they must have changed the way they do things and decided it was not a good idea to help tourists figure out how to call back to the states and drive revenue for the phone company.

And, if I had a new girlfriend, and I was going to Europe, I'm sure I would forget to take her number with me. I mean, why would I want to have a new gf's phone number, especially i the early stages of the "relationship", the best stage. lol

Yeah, Nathan, you must have one of those new, super high tech phones.....the kind that doesn't allow incoming calls. No way can an over seas call get through to your cell, that would be absurd.

international calling cards are extremely easy to use. they tell you exactly how to dial.

if she didn't buy one before she left, they are easily obtainable in tourist areas and airports.

You guys are jumping to conclusions way too fast. He just needs to wait and see what happens when she gets back.. What's the use in bombarding your brain with "what ifs" about her and her ex while she's gone? He might as well do what he's doing right now, hanging out with his friends and whatnot, and just wait until she comes back. THEN, if he feels the need to, he can drill her with questions when she comes back, or whatever. Just do what YOU feel is best, Nathan.

Well its now thursday evening. She said Italy was 4 hours ahead, which doesnt even sound right its probably more then that. Meaning its at least 11:30 PM there. Odds are shes not calling tonight. And at this rate, it appears im probably not getting a call at all. If she was going to call, she would have done it already. If I try her cell phone, it goes straight to voice mail. So its either dead, or she has no service.

Im probably not going to make anymore posts untill at least tuesday, the day she gets back, unless I do end up getting a call or letter in the meantime.

I guess its just a waiting game now. Tommorow after work im heading up to Lansing with a few friends, to meet up with my friends that go to state. Ill be spending the weekend getting drunk, then monday its back to work, and tuesday classes start and she gets back. Ill letcha guys know what happens.

So I went today to my classes for the first time. I knew Jen was coming home today, but I didn't know when. However she did say before she left she had planned to go to her 6PM class as soon as she got off the plane, so I figured she was arriving shortly before then.

My 6PM class rolls around and I still haven't heard from her, and her cell phone was still going straight to voice mail. I go to class, and get out at 8PM. Call her again, still voice mail.

Then on the ride home my phone rings. Its one of the customer service ladies at work. Jen had to go to work to get my home number, call my mom, to get my cell phone number.

So I swing over to work where Jen is. We talk for awhile out in my car in the parking lot before we both go home. She has a 7AM class and hadnt sleep in forever because of the transition and flights and such.

Anyways, in brief this is what I obtain from her trip. She had planned to take her cell phone with her so she could pull numbers out of it to call people. However in the airport Ryan's parents talked her out of bringing the phone, telling her it was a bad idea. So immediately she didn't have her phone, and didn't have my number, just as I suspected. She was going to email me, but I never left my email address with my real address that she had. She wrote me a post card which she handed to me tonight, but was unable to mail it because she couldn't get stamps in italy for whatever reason.

Her and Ryan were fighting for practically the whole trip. She said she enjoyed the sights and such, but overall the trip sucked because he was being such an asshole. While there, they told each other as soon as he moves out on the 2nd, niether of them plan to speak with one another again.

I have no reason to believe she was doing anything with him, nor do I believe she intentially didn't contact me. She didn't even call her parents because the only way she had of calling them from there was collect, and for whatever reason her parents cant accept collect calls.

I am happy with the situation. We plan to hang out tommorow after class. I think things are going to start where we left off. Yes im a little disappointed and angry that she didn't call and such, but she, at least to me, appeared to be absolutely sincere when she said she had intended to contact me.

For me, this thread is concluded. Thanks again everyone for the advice, both good and bad. Feel free to post your final thoughts, but odds are I wont respond. Things worked out the way I had hoped after all, and im happy with that.
