Why do people think that jesus is so special? Because he said that he was the son of god and let himself be murderd so that people would belive him... anybody can say that they are the son of god. Most religions say that we are ALL children of god, i went to catholic school for 5 years and went to church regularly for the first 16 years or my life, but i never really heard or saw anything to convince me that jesus did anything special... anybody got somthing good as an argument for jesus?

Yeah, except that Jesus didn't supposedly just claim to be the Son of God. During that time, it seems to me that he did a pretty good job of proving his claims (i.e. all the miracles, resurrection...). It's just a matter of whether you believe the Bible to be a true or false account of whatever happened during his lifetime. Until you settle that question, nobody can convince you of anything, really, unless they had undeniable evidence supporting biblical claims.

all of that miracle and resuraction crap was just made up by the people that idolized him, some of the miracles could have been done in the same way magicians do tricks now ie: water into wine(switch the jugs), walking on water(plan ahead and have somthing to stand on), rasing a man from the dead (he could have been unconsious and revive on his own,and then after jesus unwraped him he got up, or they could have just pland the whole thing), He could have just pland out everything, and the fact that he died and only came back once and hasn't been back since is also a little disheartening...

If you don't believe in what the Bible says, then no one is going to have much luck convincing your that Jesus was the Son of God and not just some crazy magician. Are you trying to get someone to prove Christianity to you, or are you just looking for someone to agree with you?

Alpha, what it comes down to, is that when it comes to religion its all faith. I have faith that Jesus is the son of God, and that he died for me and all of our sins. Thats is what makes him so special. Its all faith, you either have faith in that or you don't.

I wish it wasn't so cool and hip to not believe in Jesus. Sorry for those who want proof out there, it just doesn't exist. There were no cameras or anything to prove things back in the day. You either believe or you don't. There's really no hardcore proof that the Holocaust or the Civil War ever happenned... But I guess I just have the balls to trust what my forefathers said happenned, and honestly, I don't really give a shit if they didn't happen. Especially since they don't bring it up because they actually want to an intelligent conversation about it, they just want to argue.

Its kind of like when you're one of the first kids in elementary school that finds out theres no Santa Claus, and all the sudden you're the coolest, and smartest looking kid in the class as you rush out and argue with your newly formed coalition of kids who don't believe. Your heart races with excitement as you feed off the energy and attention your getting from those in your group. You laugh at others' ignorance as you race with glee through the lunch room and make others beliefs look stupid. Then they join your group to fit in and add to the synergy of your group...

...Anyways...*fond memories leaving my mind... I don't understand why people who are atheist or whatever give a shit if there are ten commandments posted at the courthouse and feel that if they don't believe then no one else should.

I think that deep down, atheists really do believe in God. It's not just that they're trying to convince the world He doesn't exist; they're trying to convince themselves. Why else would they spend their whole lives doing that?

I don't get why it is so hip and cool not to believe in God either. I also don't get why the people who don't believe in God have to bash the ones that do. They say how can you believe that shit, and try and convince us not to believe.
