If I am smarter than you, then I am right.

This is a terrible argument. (If you want to get 'logical' about it).

First of all, where do you get the idea that each subsequent generation is getting 'smarter?' I see no evidence of this. Technology is ever increasing - yes. But what of the ancient Greeks and Chinese? They may have had a more sound grip on life than we do today.

And what of the fact that perhaps education is getting better. You haven't had the chance to reap the benefits of the entire educational systems. You are too young. Not to be condescending (well, just a little), but none of us can claim the level of education of a Doctor, a Lawyer, or a Scientist. We aren't there yet.

Maybe at the time of your death, and at the time of his death; maybe then your generation will have the edge. But certainly not at this time.

And he is right that humor is ageless. If you learn this, you will live a long, happy, and lighthearted life that many enjoy.
