Anyone here ever listen to Joe Rogan's podcasts? Knowing little more about him than that he was the host of Fear Factor, I always kind of assumed he was some annoying dunce, but it turns out the guy is really awesome. His podcasts are wildly entertaining and have a good mix of humor and philosophy.

I could only watch half of that. Joe Rogan seems kind of bitchy in this video, although he also seems to be right.

I'm sure it is also well-known that Mr. Rogan is an accomplished BJJ black belt.

Not a fan. AP thinks he's annoying during UFC commentary. Dude just starts screaming. Used to have a drinking game --every time Rogan says "kimura, omaplata, or Americana." He said the first two alot.

He trains at Home | 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu under world renowned Eddie Bravo...he annoys me as well during UFC events, but his podcasts are really great!

He is also a Black Belt in TKD.

What I like about Rogan is how much he balances. Balances smoking a lot of weed and enjoying alcohol with being in really kickass shape and good at martial arts. Also manages to be pretty intelligent about world affairs and philosophy despite a career as a stand-up comedian. UFC commentator. Runs a great weekly podcast. Also has a wife and kids. Makes you wonder when he sleeps.

I like Eddie Bravo. I've heard he smokes a lot of weed. It's also well known that nubblite Bloodyfart was awarded a bjj black belt by Mr. Bravo.

I believe he trained pretty extensively with Rogan.

He was coaching privates at 10th planet while he was in grad school.

You absolutely need to listen to the JRE podcast with Chael Sonnen, even if you don't like MMA. He doesn't stay in character very much, and is entirely candid. Both are very thoughtful guys, and Chael gives a unique insight into the mind of an elite athlete, and just generally contributes a ton.

Agreed, the stuff on the unspoken way athletes try to find ways out, to give up while retaining dignity, and are ashamed of it, is very true in my experience.

My no-gi BJJ coach is going to be a guest on Joe Rogan's podcast today at 3PM EST. He has a podcast of his own called London Real, so being on Rogan's is a pretty big deal for him in terms of getting new listeners.
