I like dirt.
|
I've thought about adding this thread for a while. I have a ginormous amount of music videos on my computer that I have watched a ginormous amount of times, and I was wondering what peoples' favorites are.
There are many good ones out there...Learn to Fly by the Foo Fighters, Can't Stop and Soul to Squeeze by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Great Beyond by REM, The Scientist by Coldplay, How's it Gonna Be by Third Eye Blind...I can go on forever. Of the many great ones out there, I'd have to say that Scar Tissue by the Red Hot Chili Peppers is my favorite, though. To me, it perfectly encapsulates what music means to me...four friends, crusin' in a car, just appreciating the music. Of course there's much more to the video than that, I can go into much deeper levels, but for me, if it weren't for drive time, I wouldn't listen to nearly as much music as I do. Anyway...what's yours? [ December 16, 2003, 11:36 PM: Message edited by: tonguegina ] |

A newer music video that I've seen about 5 or 6 times in the last week: No Doubt-It's My Life. I listen to them occasionally, saw the music video on MTV, and thought it was extremely interesting. Has anyone else seen it?

Gotta say:
Coldplay - The Scientist. I am in love with this song, and the video perfectly (and I mean, PERFECTLY) compliments it. Wonderful. The White Stripes - The Hardest Button To Button. I don't know about you guys, but the picture of all those amps just makes me get all horny inside. Just a perfectly constructed video. Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Maps. Holy shit folks, Karen O. She's just....amazing? Yes. Amazing. So, when I see her, I realize that she's my bride to be, and it makes me happy inside. And this video is just great. The song is great too. If you thought that this little trio was only capable of howling rock, then give this little ditty a listen. Pliedes, the Shins song that you're looking for is "So Says I". It's the one with the penguins killing each other and putting together coups. Wonderful stuff. Oh! How could I forget. Radiohead has a good selection of videos that tickle my fancy, but there are two that bowl me over. If you can, check out "Fade Out (Street Spirit)" and "Just". Very smart, very wonderful in every way. |

Gotta put my vote in for Coldplay here.
Not only was "Trouble" a graphic designer's orgasm but, the music and lyrics fit the song sublimely. I don't know why I haven't seen their "The Scientist" video yet but, I have a feeling it's going to be way up there too. |

Now, I don't watch a lot of music videos, especially considering that the standard way of getting a chance to view them (MTV) causes my blood to boil and induces a murderous rage deep within the deepest depths of my soul 9 times out 10. That being said, I caught the video for "Trouble" once, and it sticks out in my mind.
(I also have a very fuzzy memory of once seeing a Radiohead video with some kind of animated whale or something of that nature, does such a thing actually exist?) |
