Maybe you are just unfamiliar with what a loan is?
Ok, you're not understanding and that must be my fault for not being clear enough.

Here's what happened:

Lets say you paid $1,000 in taxes for the year (to make the numbers easy)

The government went and spent that $1,000 on hookers and blow.

Then, the government borrowed $600 from China. The government gave you that $600 and said "here is a refund"

Where do you suppose the government is going to get the money to pay China back from?

From YOU.

So next year, in order to afford the very same hookers and blow that they got last year with your money AND pay back China, they are now going to take $1600 from you in taxes.

If you can explain to me how that is not a loan, I'd love to hear it.

Our country is running in a deficit. They spent all of the tax money they got, then BORROWED money in our names to give back to us as a "refund." We all still owe that money. It did not magically appear out of no where, and it wasn't actually a refund since with the deficit, they had no actual money to refund.

Now, please let me know if you still don't understand how this works. I can use smaller words if it will help.

Really, it's OK to be wrong. Daddy must have been very hard to please while growing up.

I'm glad you posted this. You are 100% wrong. I have a deadbeat Uncle that held a job for 5 weeks through 07. He hasn't even filed on years where he won't get money back. Don't know how he could do that, but he did. He came to my mom in a fit. After hearing of the free 600 bucks, he wanted to file and make sure he got his free 600. Not only did this guy get 600 bucks, but he got 1000 I think because he had 2 kids he was drawing for as well. A complete joke of the system. He wasn't taxted for 51 weeks, yet he gets 1000 smacks just to stimulate the economy.

Nubblies: If we put up with Felix, we will put up with you too.

One time I loaned a friend 20 dollars on the condition that he would give it back to me the next day. The next day he gives me a 20 dollar bill. Enraged, I say, "This isn't my money! I gave you two tens what do you take me for and idiot?" I never spoke to him again, friends don't try to deceive each other. Not cool.
