ok... I'm very sorry... but that's just freaking hilarious.
I "read" that last term... but only actually read about 10 pages. Sparknotes.com, my friend... sparknotes. And if you didn't already know, he doesn't make you take the final test on it--he uses your project grade for that. I mean, come on... I did NOTHING in that class! Did he speak of some idiot who did one of the worst presentations he ever saw (on evolution)? Yeah, that was me... I wrote pretty much all of it--and did most of the research along with the notecards essay outline sheet and other things--the freaking night before it was due. Man, I love being smart... |

Umm... I think this is the cliffnotes for the unabridged version of it... looks like what I mostly used: http://www.sparknotes.com/lit/lesmis/
I also used pink monkey's version some: http://pinkmonkey.com/booknotes/monk...pmLesMis02.asp Let me warn you, however... I did get like a D+ on all the section quizzes, and didn't know what the heck was happening during discussions/games/whatever. But, due to all the easy grades in that classs (I swear that vocab was so easy), I still got an A overall. Hope that helps. I swear, I've mastered the art of laziness and procrastination. If I remember correctly, he only checks like one of them. And I based them all off the sparknotes. Seriously, just do one well, and do the rest really slopilly so it looks like you did it. I swear, it worked for me, and it'll work for you.
And I think I threw away the summaries. [This message has been edited by rla128 (edited April 22, 2003).] |

Well, thats pretty much the only time I read the book, too... And he goes easy on that stuff. You're fine... piece of cake. Just kinda slip your way through on the presentations, study the cliffnotes for the unit quizzes, and try and act like you're doing stuff for the project. No sweat, my friend. I laugh at everyone who tries in that class. |

That's the kind of thinking I like to hear. Well, I actually read my section, and I'm a pretty good writer, so I was fine. Well, maybe only good enough to get good grades, but that's good enough for me. Man, I got a B in AP Euro just because I can write. I swear, Gilmer said my best essay was one I based totally off of quotes (and a lot of them).

I know that the reading may take you a fucking long time to do, but Les Miserables wasn't that bad of a book....it could have used a little more revolucion and less love, but other than that, I didn't think it was the worst book ever.
