chances are, if you're reading this, you own a copy of the new album "Sing the Sorrow". i love it, and i love the direction they (AFI) are taking their music. it seems most music in the mainstream is generic, so now that they are out there more, they stick out. i've been a hardcore AFI fan for 4 years now. Something about the music just grabs me, it's hard to explain. I'd like to hear what you think of the new CD, the band, why you like (or dislike) them, and if you're a previous fan, how long you've supported them and why you are so supportive. This post will hopefully get some positive responses, and make some new AFI fans (i'm in the 5th Column). Please be respectful and keep the language clean. Here's a link to the video for "Girl's Not Grey", track 6 on "Sing the Sorrow". Oh yeah, for those who already own "STS", what version do you have (red, silver, or BLACK). are there any special edition owners besides punk_afi? Later.

here's a link to a semi-related topic, started by my comrade punk_afi. http://www.nubblies.net/ubb/Forum1/HTML/000270.html
here's a link to the "GNG" vid that for some reason didn't show up in the first post: http://www2.fanscape.com/afi/gng_video.html |

i love afi! i am a big fan! the cd is great! many people have said that AFI was going to suck when sing the sorrow came out since they signed to Dreamworks, but no, they got even better. They are so great!
I have the Red, silver, black, limited edition, and vinyl. haha, 5 versions of the same thing, but hey, its AFI and if anyone on here knows me they know how much i like afi. I have been a fan for almost 2 years. I know, it hasnt been very long and i am angry that i never heard of AFI earlier or else i would have been a fan much longer than 2 years. |

Eh, seeing that AFI was in your name, I kinda put two and two together.
Could anyone explain to me what the difference is between the versions? Oh, and from what I've heard, this is an amazing album. I love the 'Girl's Not Grey' single. |

ok, the red version is the original version. you can find it anywhere. the silver is supposed to be kindof hard to find. there was only a set amount made and they wont ever make them again...it about 1 year, the only way you will be able to get it would be on ebay. The black, now those are only available on tour. After their death of spring tour they wont be available every again. there is a limit to 1 cd per person at every show and there are only 80 brought to everyshow. I was lucky enough to get one in chicago..and i got it signed but hunter (their bassist) so it is so awesome! The vinyl is just a regular vinyl and its not really rare or anything but it is on a limited pressing of a double lp that is clear red. Now the limited edition, it is a book. inside the front cover is the cd in a cd sleeve. and in the back cover there is a afi dvd in its own sleeve. and, there are over 60 pages of different lyrics, artwork, and pictures. It is really awesome. It is limited and some stores only got about 2 copies each! they came out april 22nd and my mom picked one up for me during school, after school i called sam goody and they said that they only had two and they didnt have anymore so i am really glad my mom got me one or else i wouldnt have ever gotten it. I have seen 2 at hot topic in fort wayne though, but those will go quick. I sugjest that everyone go out and buy the cd. It is great! I love it so much!

Okay. Sounds good. Any tracks that are standouts that you would suggest for downloading to make sure that I don't make a hurried purchase and end up hating the CD (which I doubt will happen, but I like to be safe when spending my moolah)?

Well, if there were any songs i would recomend downloading off of Sing the Sorrow they would have to be The leaving song pt 2 and ...but home is nowhere and dancing through sunday- that song has an amazing guitar solo in it! but really, every song on the cd is amazing and none of them are bad

i would go fuck myself, but that's what i have you around for. you make things so much easier. i just wanted to be immature for a few seconds. anyways, i've got the silver version, and i recommend "Bleed Black", "Dancing Through Sunday", "Death of Seasons", "Miseria Canteria", and "This Time Imperfect". Those are my faves on the cd. I suggest you pay for your cd's vader, the AFI "STS" is reasonably cheap (somewhere between $6-$9) depending on where you go. besides, then you don't get to go to the AFI secret website, which is only available through the cd. to check out outside reviews and learn more about the band, their touring schedule, the Despair Faction, and the 5th Column, go to http://afireinside.net/ later.
