I'm offering this idea on the fly, so it may be shitty. If that is the case, simply reply and let me know.
Due to the overwhelming amount of shit talking on the boards in all areas EXCEPT for the shit talking central forum, I'm decided to implement an idea in an attempt to encourage trash talking in this designated place. The Shit Talking will go down in the following form: Person A will challenge Person B to an Organized Shit Talk. If Person B accepts, a thread will be made in which only those two may shit-talk. Other people may post replies commenting on who they believe is winning, but they may not insult anyone else within that thread. After the group has come to a concensus on which member of the Organized Shit Talk is the winner, the victor will be announced and the things said within the thread will be forgotten (as it will all be done in sport...and not with the intention of causing suicide). That last little sexxor is important. Because the insults are not to be taken personally, ANYONE can challenge ANYONE. I do not get to do much shit talking on this site because I am the guy in charge...and if I started to hate people that would not be fair...BUT with Organized Shit Talking, I would bash some fucker and be bashed without any hard feeling whatsoever. The same goes with you and a best friend. You could easily trade insults and retain a close bond outside of your respected shit talking thread. Is this a good idea or not? Hopefully this would eliminate a good portion of the shit talking on the other forums. Instead of telling Aric Hartzler to suck 18 dicks in his rant, you could simply say, "I challenge you to an Organized Shit Talk." If he accepts, you could make the thread (which you should title OST - YOU Vs. Aric Hartzler). If he didn't accept, you could make fun of him for being a pussy. It's a win-win situation. Go ahead and give me some feedback. |

On the whole, it's a wonderful idea. The only flaw I see in it, is this:
When you say that it will be friendly, and the two people will not be effected in their outside relationship by what they say in nubblies.....I find that to be false. No matter how hard we try to just take it all as a joke, we still let a little bit of it slip into our consiousness as the truth. Behind every joke, there is a sliver of truth. So, just something to think about. I am COMPLETELY IMPARTIAL to the whole idea. Do what you want. If you do start this thing, I'll be happy to participate. If you don't, that's fine too. -Ugly Bastard |

a damn good idea, it will revive the shit talking forum, and it will help clean up alot of the trash in the other forums that the newbies create.
I think there should be a maximum number of posts each person should have say 10. The shit talking would take place in rounds one post per person per round. After each round everyone else would voice their opinion on who one, and an elite member or a mod would keep a tally. After 5 rounds the winner would be decided, and the shit talking would end, unless ofcourse there was a tie. |

Yes, that's the type of thing that I had in mind, buckeye. The round idea is great. We could have each member split up a total of 5 points between the 2 candidates...maybe give one 4 pts and the other 1 point or something. Then the winner would be who had the best of the 5 rounds. Well there has been a huge fucking error in the network and I have to log off. Fucking shit. Keep leaving feedback.

I like the idea alot. Good idea. Anyone who really does take it personally is a loser and should kill themselves.
Well, as long as the person doing the shit talking isn't actually getting personal. [This message has been edited by 50 Cent (edited November 25, 2002).] |

Do you think it's a great idea, baby_boy? I share your sentiments. With that said, what do you say to you and I kicking things off? Baby_boy, I challenge you to the first organized shit talk. I realize that no rules have been set in stone, but that isn't to say we can't begin talking shit. As soon as I see your acceptance (which I assume will be coming), I'll make the thread along with the first bashing (considering I made the challenge, I thought I should bash first...you may go first if you would like). Are you up to it?

I'm curious, is the OST thread more importantly a competition between to 2 people, or an amusement for the members? As I see it, if a match is judged soley for the amusement of the members, there would be no point in setting up a powered arguement.

eh, im not actually bitching. Im just wondering whats the point of actually trying to beat a guy in OST if the match wont be scored upon how well I do.
For example, Bert offsetting the score for his own enjoyment (making it a closer match). I could honestly care less whether I win or lose. But I dont see a point in actually tallying rounds if it isn't done in respects to the match. |

St. Anky-
A.) If you had won Round 1 would you have made those last two posts on this thread? No. B.) People vote how they want to vote, don't bitch at them for their voting style. C.) You've got four more Rounds to prove yourself, so do so. -Ugly Bastard |

I think everyone was pretty damn honest in judging the bashes/posts. I usually bash anky myself, but i gave him the 3-2 edge, why? cause his post, i thought, was alittle better, now was it 5-0 better? hell no, but still better.
We're trying to be pretty straight about all of this, so quit whining. |

dont get me wrong pliedes, everyone was very good at setting their votes with honest conviction. but when a dumbass comes along just to fuck around, it doesnt seem very logical.

its his vote get over it, and i do remember you going around the to people who voted at school and bitching about how they scored. Now if the points are to be rewarded on how good a bash is, then how logical is it for you go to going around and bitching about how you only got 3 points or 2 points from a voter? |

that was bitching buckeye. the only person i said it to were you and 1 other person who had brought it up in the first place.
Did I do it on nubblies? No, i did not scatter posts bitching about how people denoted their votes. Actually, I just admitted to pliedes that everyone, excluding refucks like Bert, placed their votes logically. I will quit this subject now, as there is no point as you do nothing but follow suit with whatever the majority states. Good day buckeye. |

Not all votes are placed logically in Presidential elections, some people just vote by playing favorites, its their points let them distribute them as to how they see fit.
quote:
I will quit this subject now, as there is no point as you do nothing but follow suit with whatever the majority states. Buckeye, please.
For one, i believe you are referring to the United States' democratic voting system as perfect, which it is not. Here on nubblies, we have the ability to have a more perfect voting system as everyone's voice can be heard. Direct Democracy. Secondly, you are repeating what I said. I am sorry I pounced on you with that comment, please accept that. And, as I stated before, I am not mad at losing round one. I was just questioning the way the OST has been setup. |

Sadly, I kind of agree with Anky on this one. The whole shit talking forum is meant to amuse the rest of the members of nubblies. However, isn't the point of nubblies for the amusement of everyone? Also, like you, I really don't give a shit as to who wins. My only concern is making your posts better than Jake quality since you've definitely got some posting potential. On a related note, Round 2 will continue some time after the super bowl.

The purpose of the OST is to win each round. That's it. Some voters think that "winning" means that the basher made a fool out of the opponent. Some think it means that they made their opponent look like his points were invalid. Some like a mix. It doesn't really matter what the voter likes, as it is his or her prerogative to vote as they see fit. If Bert wants his vote to be 5-0, it is his place to cast such a vote. I would hope that people would vote with how they really think the bashings were...but if people aren't going to do that there's nothing I can do about it. I can't tap into Bert's mind to see how he actually felt about the posts. Who's to say he didn't hate your post and just love Bater's? Honesty is what I ask for. If some members refuse to give that, it's just something that we're going to have to live with.

Where is your motivation to make a good post if you don't care who wins? You might as well just lead off Round 2 by typing "Giddy-Up", clicking submit, and sitting back and watching Anky kick your ass if that's really how you feel about it. -Ugly Bastard |
