Nubblies.com has just created a fantasy NBA Basketball league for the pleasure of its members.

If you wish to join the league, simply use your yahoo userid (or get one if you don't already have one) to join it via the url http://fantasysports.yahoo.com . Go to fantasy basketball and then click on "join a private league."

League ID: 138936

The draft, unfortunately, was unable to be held after school hours (because the NBA season has started, and many slots are full, the times are VERY limited). Because of that, it is scheduled for this friday at 9:45 AM. This may mean that some of you will be able to take part in it (during 2nd period), but for those of you who cannot, you can preselect the order which you would like the computer to draft your folks and let autopilot take over from there.

I am not sure if this whole thing is a great idea or a terrible idea...I guess that your participation or lack thereof will answer that question for me. If the league fills up (there are 12 spots available...1 of which I've already filled up), then I'll make a new forum here @ nubblies dedicated completely to the league (where we can discuss trades, players' performances, and, of course, talk shit). If not, it doesn't matter as we'll all forget about it anyway. So...head out to http://fantasysports.yahoo.com if you are interested. Also, make your team name the same as your Nubblies username so we can distinguish who is who. Realize that your Yahoo ID will be revealed...so if your username is "JohnnyTapblossom007" (or anything that gives away your identity), but so far you have remained completely anonymous on Nubblies...and you want to remain completely anonymous, it would probably be a good idea to create a new user id for the league. It takes about 20 seconds and doesn't hurt too badly.

I am signed up for this and am looking forward to the draft in second period if the firewall at the high school will allow me to participate. This could be a fun league and I hope everyone joins.

What if some of us dont know a bloody thing about basketball? We just watch it and ect. Or what if all we watch is college and we only watch one team. Are there like choice suggestions or anything?

If you don't know anything about basketball you will have about as much skill at this league as I... Yahoo helps you out a bit by giving you pre rankings...or, if you don't make any picks at all, Yahoo will draft what it thinks you should have (based on those prerankings that I've already spoken of). Before the drafting of my first league, I knew nothing. Now I'm actually semi-interested in the NBA as a whole because I wanna know how my guys do...

This is what I'm saying, before the fantasy leagues I watched with NBA games with mild to good interest. I was mostly interested in the pacers because there my favorite team but now I find myself searching all the channels hoping an NBA game is on to see who is doing well and who I might be able to pick up or how my guy is doing. It adds a whole new level to my nba excitement.

I concur when BDH says that fantasy sports make you more interested in real-life sports. I actually play fantasy golf (yes, fantasy golf) and sometimes I find myself watching the last round of a tournament on a sunday to see how my guys are doing. It's really a good way to become engaged in sports. Kudos to fantasy sports.

J. Stackhouse score. That's the message I keep getting. My computer fucking tells me when any one of my players scores. That's how you'll feel if you join the league. We need one more person to join by Thursday nite (so I can close it off for the Friday draft). Please, for the love of cock, even if you have little to no interest in the NBA, join the fucking league.

If you have yet to sign up, but still want to, you must find another person to come in with you (in order to keep the number of teams even). Msg me if that happens...

Wow I really beat the shit and am beating the shit out of all of you in this. Obviously my predictions from the start, of BDH slowly pulling away were correct.
