Thats a tall order, plus those rankings dont account for the Big East winner taking one of those 8 spots. 1)You'll need USC, Vtech, Alabama, and PSU to win out. You have no hope of jumping USC, Vtech, or Alambama if they lose once, but they can take out many of those other 1 loss teams along the way. 2) Ohio State, and Oregon taking a spill. 3) ND's SOS to not drop any lower. Which given the remainder of your schedule is all but impossible

maybe next year beebs.... Victim- Given the current standings its all but impossible for Notre Dame to pass up a two loss, Penn State, LSU, or Ohio State. As for Michigan, they'll play us closer than what i orginally thought given their defensive improvement over the course of the season, but they really dont match up with us.

It was that way in 2002 as well, this year the rule is automatic berth if they finish in the top 6 of the BCS standings; if a non-BCS school qualifies, the Irish are guaranteed a spot with nine wins or a top-10 finish. They are BCS-eligible if they win nine games and finish in the top 12....which basically means, given their drawing power, if they're top 12, they're going.

Ohio State will drill Michigan this year.
OSU is the best team in the Big10 this year. They had Texas beat and all but gave the game away and just didn't play up to there ability against Penn State. They have in my opinion the best defense in the country. |

Just an observation.
As of right now, Notre Dame has played exactly three teams with a winning record and lost two of those games. Those big wins against Washington (1-7) and Purdue (2-6)earlier are no longer big wins. True they can only play their schedule and it is a fluke that all of these teams that were supposed to be good this year aren't. A down Tennesee might give ND a tougher game than some people think. However, even if Notre Dame beats Tennessee, they will have only beaten a 3-5 team. The schedule might hurt Norte Dame later on. |

Right. just saying that when scheduling is factored in later on, what looked like a tough schedule in pre-season didn't turn out that way. It's not ND's fault that a schedule of what were supposed to be good teams in the preseason turned out not that good. Can't change the schedule as you go.
It'll suck ass if some computer spits out a shitty strength of schedule ranking because what were supposed to be good teams didn't live up to their end of the bargain. It's not like ND was scheduling like Kansas State. [ November 05, 2005, 07:33 PM: Message edited by: angry pancake ] |
