The 19th ranked player in the class of 2006. A McDonalds All-American, for those of you unfamiliar with player rankings D.J. White was #13 2 years ago so this is an immediate starter/impact type freshman. He's rumored to have IU leader and has been verbally quoted as saying IU and Kansas are his two leaders. A win tonight in front of him could seal him up as a commitment for us. |

Second, tap the brake on what these recruiting websites say. Time and again they'll have people on their top list who aren't being recruited by anybody and they get exposed on that shit. As long as they keep asking the kids for their vitals and who's recruiting them and taking their word for it, they're gonna get duped. Usually, a list comes out and there's a handful of local guys on it who nobody ever heard of locally. Not saying that's the case with Darrel, his team won the 4A state championship last year (Note: 5A is top rung in Texas). Right now his biggest problem is scoring 2 points in the second half in a loss to Cater that has one player at least 6'6" coupled with his dismal performance in summer league play. Didn't know he was a McDonald AM. That flew under the radar here. Also of note, It appears that his list has been paired down to four teams. Indiana, Baylor, SMU, and Kansas. Seems odd that Texas gets dropped from his list after they say they don't think there's a scholarship for him with the commitment of Durant. He's no Larry Johnson or Chris Bosh (or Bracey Wright for that matter). But he is a very good player who most likely will go to Indiana.

As much as all you guys from Indiana are huge fucking tools I'm rooting for IU because I despise Duke. JJ is the biggest homosexual in the history of the ACC and makes me want to puke every time I watch their team play. So for this one time all season I will cheer for you douchebags.

IU and Kansas are what he's down to and KU isn't "lukewarm" they are all over him. In the end I think he'll end up at IU. Wow what a game pretty fucking intense. My thoughts on the game come away with a positive. If we can only lose by 8 (and the last minute got sloppy) to the #1 team in the country without our best player in the lineup I will definitely take that. Killingsworth is a monster and I can't even begin to imagine how him and DJ will be together when DJ is healthy. As much as I hate the bastard JJ Redick is damn good, really wasn't much they could do to stop him. I'd love to play Duke again with DJ in the lineup hopefully somewhere in the NCAA's we'll run into em'.

I guess what I was getting at is that while BDH's passion (or even DJ FC but I cant lay claim to know the extent of his knowledge) for IU may portray him as an idiot fan at times, or the Hoosier version of Schroeder, he's definitely not deserving of it. You could venture to say I hold his loyalty much in the same regard as you do mine. By and far I don’t follow IU, and really could care less about them, but I could listen to BDH talk about them for hours. He could probably tell you the last 5 women James Hardy has slept with. As for the excitement BDH and DJ FC share about IU basketball it can be understandable, and its very easy at times to be overconfident in your respective team early on, much like my OSU Rose Bowl prediction (but then again Ryan Hamby is a fucker, and Penn State has been tremendous this year). There is a fine line that separates the homers/idiots from the fans, and fans from the diehards. What distinguishes these two (well BDH at least) is the fact they know their shit and makes any post pertaining to IU sports tolerable.

UCLA is a non-factor, they were good in the Wooden era but will never be an elite team again IMO. Bottom line is other than Arizona teams out west simply cannot compete.
Oden didn't come to IU because his best friend and basically father figure in his life (Mike Conley Sr.) wanted him to go elsewhere. I think he wanted to come to IU and simply could not leave the comfort of his closest ones which I understand. |

They chose OSU for three reasons. 1) Lightly and Cook already committed to OSU were their AAU teammates since 8th grade. 2) OSU is relatively close to home. 3) Our basketball team sucks, and they'd become instant starters/heroes.

Conley didn't want to come to IU because flat out his father did not like Mike Davis. That was made obvious by quotes directly from his father and through rumor. For those of you that wonder Mike Conley Jr. is the son of Mike Conley Sr. the olympic gold medalist in the triple jump.

I fucking hate Notre Dame but Notre Dame has a bigger following for college football than any other college football team. Likewise, the monday night game in Indy (which I was at) was the 7th highest rated sports progam ever. How can you say Indiana sports fail in comparison when we own the two biggest football followings in americas sport. Need I mention that Indiana Basketball has higher numbers than any college basketball team in California, but then again it's "ludacris" to compare the two.
