The guy seems to prove both his doubters and supporters right at the same time.
On one hand he clearly is not very good at the things modern quarterbacks are judged on. He doesn't complete enough passes, and he just generally doesn't work as a QB in most playbooks. On the other hand, does he need to be a good QB in the modern sense to be a good player? Going way back, the QB was just one of 3 or 4 backs, they wouldn't always or even usually be the one taking the snap. In the NFL, nothing works long term, the game constantly ebbs and flows, so if this continues to win games, why not keep running it? If he doesn't need to be a modern QB, what about other freak athletes who played QB at some point? How successful would a similar offense be by moving somebody like Matt Jones, who was an absolute freak at Arkansas (although he loved him some cocaine), or Brad Smith? What about high school QBs? Micheal Bush, Anquan Boldin, Hines Ward? I know Tom Zbikowski played as an option QB before going to Notre Dame and took a handful of snaps there. How would they do? I don't think the "he's going to get hurt" argument holds much water; if he gets hurt you just throw in a backup QB who is more orthodox. It's very interesting. |

Keep your pants on. They haven't played a good team. His option will get figured out like the wildcat got figured out in Miami. Then the losing will begin.
I love how they say his strength is leadership but I don't think anyone respects him - unless he keeps winning obviously. Soon as the losses and the negative QB rating start piling up he'll be a laughingstock again. That prayer circle stuff might get pulled off in highschoold or college but not in the NFL with grown nigs. |

I don't think there is much to figure out; he's just really good at running. I think if a team gets some points early and just loads up the box, then he will have more trouble.
He's not really gimmicky though; the wildcat has a QB out wide and an unbalanced line, if teams would just run designed QB runs with the occasional option or pass, but with a specialist like Tebow or player who normally plays a different position, they could have success. |

I am really amused by how polarizing he is. My roommate gets in a fit every time the guy wins a game. Has no connection to him, just this unreasonable hatred.
To me, it's pretty impressive how well he's done given that a) he's a rookie, and b) there's so much hype around him. Not as impressive as Cam Newton though. |

What's the deal with the religious stuff?

Psychedelics are illegal not because a loving government is concerned that you may jump out of a third story window. Psychedelics are illegal because they dissolve opinion structures and culturally laid down models of behavior and information processing.

Tebow is an evangelical Christian, Dad is some mega-pastor or something I think. He claims to be a virgin but I'd bet a testicle to win $40 that he's at least stuck the tip in before. Views the NFL as a platform for spreading the word of Christ.

Yep.
Because having them on your fantasy team makes you an expert. Especially more so than the rest of us. |
![]() The basis of our governments being the opinion of the people, the very first object should be to keep that right; and were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers, or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter. But I should mean that every man should receive those papers and be capable of reading them. ![]() |

And having his kicker bang through a 58 and a 51 yarder in the clutch helped too. He'll get all the credit and then turn around and give it to God instead of the people who earned it.
