We were superior without a doubt in the first half. Better possession, controlled the game, and really set up some nice opportunities. England seems like a quick strike offense. They aren't a possession team but have the ability to score at anytime.
I liked our approach better throughout the game as a whole. England outplayed us at the beginning of the second half and through the second half but for the game I like us better. Could of easily been a 2-1 game with Altidore's chance although the goal we did score was a gift. As noted above neither team will go far with those preformances but I like our chances better. |

Both teams got what they deserved; England certainly did not deserve a win. Also, the goalkeepers are part of the team, they aren't assigned randomly, they have to be trained, chosen, coached: all responsibilities of the national side, and the US is clearly superior at that, so it makes perfect sense that our goalkeeper is much better than any of yours. | |

Ok, I watched it again, you are closer to right than I am Dent, apologies to you. Nationalism got to me.
England basically controlled more of the game than I thought, but I still think they were not very dangerous much of the time. I still think both sides got what they earned. |

One of the top 5 cooles sports-related moments of my life when US scored. Everyone at Lagasse's in Vegas was going absolutely apeshit. Broken beer bottles, jumping up and down, hugging, crying, it was amazing, all while a ton of English were in the room sitting there with their arms crossed shaking their heads too.

England 1-1 USA: England poor in possession, US get wide players forward well | Zonal Marking
Does a decent job of explaining why the US 4-4-2 is closer to a 4-2-2-2. ![]() |

I was at a party for the game consisting of 5 englishmen, 6 japanese, 1 thailand guy, 1 turkish guy, and 4 americans. Safe to say when America scored in my somewhat intoxicated state I proceded to rip the American flag off the wall and wave it in the English folks face. I also made some comment about America celebrating kicking Englands' ass on the 4th of July too.

I threw a party at a bar and we had roughly a 50-50 split, about 25 Americans, 20 or so Brits, a handful of Canadians (ew). The atmosphere was perfect and when we scored that goal I thought the place was going to burn down.

The party I was at (in London) was probably 3/4 english, but the americans were loud enough that it seemed 50-50. When the US trickled that ball in, the room went nuts. We chanted U-S-A for about five minutes. Incredible.
BTW all told, I thought England looked like a better team overall. Our goalkeeper was out of his mind and might have been the best player on the field. Other games so far, Messi looked amazing but Argentina wasn't super-exciting after the first goal, and S Korea v Greece just reminded me that Greeks are terrible, terrible people. |

I don't know much about soccer, but that guy was awful. Blatent disregard of rules on challenges. I would be curious if the side judge called the offsides, or if he just made it up!

Being in Asia, where they go batshit over soccer/football, it's been pretty unavoidable, especially in the dusk hours when there isn't really shit to do and no party has started yet. The France/SA game last night was pretty good I thought.

Psychedelics are illegal not because a loving government is concerned that you may jump out of a third story window. Psychedelics are illegal because they dissolve opinion structures and culturally laid down models of behavior and information processing.
