punk rock may all sound the same to you, but there are many punk bands out there who have THEIR OWN sound, and sound awesome. i'm not saying no other genre is good, because i like all kinds of music, but punk rock is the only music that can grab me, get me psyched, or evoke any emotion for that matter. punk may not be your music of choice, but it has alot to offer, regardless of the cliche, generic, gutterpunk sound everyone thinks of. one thing about punk rock is it refuses to be exploited by the record labels. there have been pathetic attempts at it (gc, 182, etc.), but they aren't accepted into the scene. it's seemingly a growing trend these past couple of years, which is sad, but you can't stop it. punk has evolved since is original blast, and is still evolving, unlike alot of mainstream label-made crap. it has a chance in the future. it's true. it's real.

i don't no what he thinks but well it started in 2 places at once, England and NYC with the sex pistols and the ramones and from there other bands came out like the clash and misfits and punk has kept evolveing since then

well at least thats how i see it if someone sees different let me know manybe i will learn something new

Acually nobody knows where it started, but ya as far as anyone knows it either started with the ramoans and the velvet underground or the sexpistles in the UK.

yeah they considered them different scenes until they realized they were similar and then bands were influenced by both or all 3 and then it just went from there to where we are today
