Apparantly the pills they found by his bed were over the counter sleeping pills.

Makes it look like a suicide rather than an accidental OD, and based on whats in most OTC sleeping pills and how they would behave in large quantities, it was a fucking godawful way to die.

Sleeping pills like barbituates or benzos mixed with some other downer would be a painless way to die.

Most OTC sleeping pills on the other hand have either the same ingredient or one that acts in the same way as anti-histamines or motion sickness pills, it would be like taking enough dramamine or benodryl to kill yourself.

With prescription pills you would at least feel some relaxation or euphoria for those 15 or so minutes before the full dose hits you, with over the counter you would be in hell for those minutes.

So yea, sleeping pills or other downers would be the way to go, if theyre prescription.

sleeping pills are pretty hard to overdose on, best method is lighting some coal, waiting till it goes grey, and sealing yourself in a fairly small room, CO poisoning is the best way.
