So this man goes on a killing spree in nursery and takes out one adult and two babies. He stabs ten other babies, but they live. How do you stab a baby and have it live? He then flees on a bicycle.

That is messed up. Perhaps the babies were stabbed in their hands and feet? This is the only way that I could imagine an infant would survive, being that those body parts do not contain huge arteries, hearts, or brains.

Just reread the article.

It states "ten other children" were stabbed. Maybe they were actually children, and not babies.

Fair enough, a child is a child though.

Every time something like this happens I always have the same reaction: "That's it?"

Granted people who go on killing sprees are pretty much fuck ups to begin with, but how do they do so bad at it? I am not looking for death and carnage, but a man with a knife vs. a bunch of children? No contest. It reminds me of the greatest internet debate ever: How many five year olds could you take out before you got tired and they overpowered you?

I also find it pitiful when people who go on killing sprees fail so terribly. Taking this case into account:

The man only had a knife.
You can do far more killing or damage with other weapons. Flame throwers, guns, explosives, biochemical warfare, etc. A knife would probably be the least killing efficient weapon.

He only killed three people.
If he is going to do something that will likely put in him jail for a while, why not try a few more. It is clear that the amount of people killed is lacking because of the choice of weapon. But given the population that he chose[nursery/children's hospital] to strike upon, he should have killed way more.

He only wounded 10 children.
If these are indeed children and not small infants, then I can see why he only injured them. Children can be smart and agile, thus enabling them to run away quickly. But it said he killed two babies and a nursery worker. This must mean he spent some time in a nursery. Babies in a nursery seem to be the easiest target, aside from perhaps people sleeping.

He should have just targeted the nursery, that way the news stories about him wouldn't be lame ["man kills one adult, two babies, and leaves the rest wounded and alive"]. They would say something like "Sociopath seizes nursery and brutally stabs all babies, leaving no future generation for small town."

Update! The first article was kind of shitty and left out an important detail. He put on face paint to look like..... drum roll please...

From what the article said he is 20 and described as "thin, tall and ginger haired." The article also said he stabbed pretty much just heads and throats. He killed one employee and two kids. "Police and hospital sources said six children, between one and three, were seriously injured, another four suffered minor injuries. Last night they were all out of danger after surgery."
