Man that's so brutal. I would be seriously pissed if my grandparents pulled a move like that. Good luck powering through the weekend. Your gf needs a black eye for this IMO.

Saint DH 11-17-2011 10:39 PM

I gotta agree that it's kind of a shitty situation, but your grandparents won't be around for much longer. If they don't die soon, they're probably only hanging on to their sanity by a thread. It be long until one of them doesn't know who you are and the other develops some kind of paranoia syndrome. Cherish these moments.

Or they could live for another 20 years and pull an everybody loves Raymond.

One of these days I'm going to be waiting in your kitchen when you get home from work with a case of brews and a j.

thekremlin 11-18-2011 06:49 AM

One of these days I'm going to be waiting in your bedroom with a paring knife.

Now that would be a surprise I wouldn't mind.

This might turn out to be a decent visit. My grandpa is insisting on going to look at houses today. I do not plan on living in Alabama forever but owning a couple rental houses is not out of the question. Being the favorite grandson definitely has its pluses, surprise visits when you have plans is not one of them.

Saint DH 11-18-2011 01:30 PM

Owning rental property is overrated and a pain in the arse.

Mr. Blonde 11-18-2011 01:34 PM

I'm confused. They're going to buy a house for you, or buy a house for them and die and leave it to you?

My grandpa passed last year and I didn't even get left a paperweight. My cousin got a truck.

I never really liked my grandpa.

FTFY, don't speak for those of us who respect good investments and enjoy home repair.

If anything it would be purchasing a house for me.
Doubt we will agree on what they want and what I want...plus I don't really feel like anyone should purchase me something as expensive as a house so it will probably never happen. Luckily they have always been great to me. Gave me my first vehicle, furniture, and other random stuff. My brother not so much. They sold him his first vehicle at the kbb value which I find hilarious.

What's it like to still have a grandparent alive? I lost all of mine by 2007.

Ugly Bastard 11-20-2011 01:20 AM

All four of my grandparents are still alive.

Saint DH 11-20-2011 01:24 AM

Watching them lose their minds sucks pretty bad.

Ugly Bastard 11-20-2011 01:26 AM

Ugh yea... getting old has gotta suck so bad. I hope I die doing something awesome when I'm 75.

I've got 3. (4th died in a plane crash before I was born)

And I had a great grandparent even when I was in college. My family makes em young.

ninjaface 11-20-2011 10:53 AM

I have 2 grandmothers at the moment. They are both around 85 or 86. Both still pretty with it. I found out both are racists. Which makes me at least 25% racist. I had no idea.

THEINCREDIBLEdork 11-20-2011 11:29 AM

I have 2 on the same side. 3rd one died over last christmas. 4th when I was in middleschool.

Repugnant Abomination 11-20-2011 01:49 PM

While I sympathize, I think DH is right on this one: while it's an inconvenience for you and all of your important fucking plans, your grandparents are just trying to spend some time with their grandson before they get too old or die. You have different priorities, but theirs are more important.

angry pancake 11-30-2011 05:31 PM

I really really really hate it when I take a shit and it feels like it's going to come out sideways or completely rip up my asshole. Then after all that work and effort, it is really nothing but a couple of little milk duds. /rant.

SittinOnDubsWGW 12-01-2011 01:57 AM

You heard it here first: AP isn't satisfied if his asshole doesn't get completely ripped up.

angry pancake 12-01-2011 08:18 AM

Fucking right on.

Ironic Mustache 12-07-2011 08:25 PM

I'm getting a little tired of you guys calling me Mexican. Seriously, I don't see it.

SittinOnDubsWGW 12-09-2011 03:35 AM

I need to see some identification.

SittinOnDubsWGW 01-05-2012 10:22 AM

I just worked 21 hours. That shit sucks.

Ironic Mustache 01-23-2012 02:01 PM

My wallet was recently stolen and before I realized it, whoever did it charged almost $400 on one of my credit cards. Less shitty but still annoying as fuck, I also had had around $65 in gift cards and $20 cash. On top of all that, I now have to order all new cards, go to the DMV for a new license, and deal with a bunch of fraud shit. Fuck someone.
