I wish I would've gone in on the money bet now, but considering that I didn't watch a single game of college basketball before filling out my bracket, I think I did pretty well.

At least I finally have a Golden N...but it's nicer knowing that I beat all of you fucks handily. It must suck losing to someone that knew nothing about it.

One of the things I hate about ESPN is how they just make facts up and report it. Today it's the tidbit that this year is the first year since 1979 that no first or second seeded teem didn't reach the final four since 1979. My old ass remember watching the tourney and recall that Indiana State was undefeated and ranked no.1 in the AP (no relation) poll prior to the tourney. Turns out that Penn was the only seeded team in the final four not a 1 or 2.

Six weeks ago it appeared that NBA records only went back to the NBA ABA merger. Which, if I recall was really a non-event and not much of a merger of anything.

I also hate that they show WNBA highlights like somebody gives a shit. Same with Danica Patrick and Michelle Wie. Report on them when they do something.

I agree with AP on ESPN. CBS did the same thing with "fact creating" earlier in the tournament when they claimed 7th seeded BYU "upset" 10th seeded Florida last year. They just try to rewrite history, assuming nobody will even know (nor do they), b/c their big-headed fuckstick minds can't wrap around the idea a non-BCS school could conceivably be an underdog to a non-BCS school.

Yea they did the same thing at one point during UNLV-Illinois this year; it was something along the lines of "the Rebels hopes of upsetting the Illinii are fading quickly..." I remember thinking "uhh... they're 2 pt favs."

And yea, ESPN can be very fucking annoying. It's targeted to pretty low intelligence people. They've gotten a little better by adding some sabremetrics to baseball reporting in recent years, but it's all pretty low-brow stuff. Higher-brow stuff is harder to produce and I think they know if they went that route they might find there's not as much to say so instead 25% of their coverage is a bunch of know-nothing journalists speculating over the various facets of non-stories (see: Tiger, Heat crying in locker room, Favre, etc, etc).
