What we have in this thread is opportunistic cynicism versus idealistic romanticism. Both can be right just as much as both can be obnoxious and nauseating. My opinion is that Blonde and UB are right in that guys in their 20's should look to score as much poon as possible and not be searching for "the one". And UB is very right when he says you should be the one who's great. You want to be so great that women want to hitch their wagon to your star, not the other way around.

On the other hand, if you do meet "the one" then that's awesome. Women who are smart, beautiful, successful and complimentary to your life are difficult to come by, and if you happen to stumble upon one you should give the relationship a chance, because she may just be the love of your life. There are several of us on the board who are in happy, long term relationships, and I think I speak for all of us when I say that I wouldn't trade it for random hookups. I think that that lifestyle is sometimes over romanticized.

UB, I'm sure you can recall my stating that I don't really enjoy sex, nor have I ever. I don't see women as objects to fuck. I simply want a partner who can add to my life in ways that I need. I've come to realize over the past two years that I can't really live on my own and still accomplish everything that I need/want to accomplish. I need help. I've found my best friend who just happens to also be a fantastic girlfriend in all the areas I was looking. As picky as I am with girls, I am stunned to find one like her. I promise you'd all really like her if you hung around her.

I am great, and I know it. There's the key, I am not going to waste my time burning through hoodrats. There are girls that are worth my time and there are those who are not. The majority of girls fall into the not "worth my time" column so I don't waste me time.

Also, I have only met a couple of girls that I wasn't bored fucking after the first or second time. I am about 50/50 on girls actually being able to get me off. It used to be the anticipation that made it all exciting, then I realized that all I had to do was make a move and within 2 or 3 dates any girl I met would be dropping her pants.

My point was that if I am fucking some ho just for the sake of getting my rocks off, I will be less open when someone worth my time comes along. I am not willing to "settle" and I have no intention of wasting a bunch of girls time that are ignorant to the fact that they don't mean anything to me.

And I happen to think that "idealized romanticism" is VERY MUCH over romanticized. You must have skimmed over the part where I mentioned that most girls can't even get me off. Fucktoys are only fun if they work, and most of the girls I have had sex with couldn't deliver. LITERALLY more than half of them couldn't get me to orgasm, LITERALLY.
