Being a very sporty nubblite. I would like a response. With less than a month left before the start of the college football season. Let's poll who will do the best in 2003. And who will be in Tempe, Arizona in January.

The hurricanes for sure, I'd almost go as far as to predict last year all over again. Except for the whole Ohio winning part.

I think it'll be Oklahoma and Ohio State... however there is no way Ohio State will repeat... at least I hope not. So I guess Tennessee will have to wait about thirty years. Until then hopefully Notre Dame will turn around behind Ty Willingham.

Ohio State will go all the way, they will be playing in January to defend their title.
1. They return almost their entire offense from last year. 2. Mike Nugent- one if not the best field goal kicker in the nation, he hit 22 consecutive fg's last year. 3. Chris Gamble- last year was only a small sample of what he can do, he'll have technique at DB this year not just talent. 4. Will Smith-remember the guy that took out Willis in the Fiesta Bowl? He'll be playing strong safety and will fill the gap left by Doss. 5. The LB's, despite the fact that Wilhelm is gone, there is enough young LB talent to fill in. D'andrea, and A.J. Hawk will be huge this year. Oklahoma- will fall to their archrival Ok. State, you might as well call Bob Stoops, John Cooper after this year. Michigan- are you shitting me? They'll drop to Notre Dame (ND has a good secondary), and of course to Ohio State. Miami-well seeing how their confernce is pathetic i really dont see them losing in season. They'll put up big points, and everyone will jump on the Hurricane bandwagon, but when the postseason rolls around i dont see them doing so well. |

Plus, they have to play wisconsin, penn st, and michigan on the road. There is no way that they are going to come out of there with no losses. How many times has ohio st beaten michigan 3 yrs in a row? let me think...none. Sure ohio st is talented, but you have to agree that they are lucky as well. Last year ohio st had 7 wins that were less than a touchdown difference. No team ever gets that many breaks 2 years running in a conference as tough as the big ten. Good luck with any big ten team coming out with 0-1 losses. I'll tell you right now, that if a team does come away with 0-1, then you will be looking at the national champion. my bad, ohio st won 4 straight in 60-63 [ August 19, 2003, 01:28 AM: Message edited by: BrassMonkees ] | |

three times in a row has happened on 3 occasions.
1919-21 1934-37 (4) 1960-63 (4) so before you open your cakehole howbout you get your facts straight. nextly the likehood of the big ten champ not losing, or losing one game, is very likely. Seriously you have to be a fucking idiot to think otherwise, seeing how a two loss champion has only happened 5 times in the 107 year history of the Big Ten. Good luck finding a Big Ten champ this year with 2 loses. I dont care how even the the teams may seem to you, its just not going to happen. Ohio State will be fine on the road, they won at Wisconsin last year, and Joe Pa has only losing records to two teams, one of them being Ohio State. The only game i'm worried about is Michigan, mainly because the shitheads up north are going to be preparing weeks in advance for this game, playing Mich. State, and Northwestern prior to the Nov. 22 showdown, will allow them to do so. |

Ouch. Way to research your facts Brass.
Buckeye: 1 BrassMonkees: 0 I went ahead and voted for Notre Dame, just because I'm a huge fan. I don't actually think they'll make it to the National Championship though. I was happy to see that four other people voted along with me though... |
