Or maybe if we got a pass interference call for the pass to jenkins in the endzone.
as far as your score theory.... Iowa beats Michigan 30-27 Iowa beats Miami(OH) 21-3 OSU beats Iowa 19-10 Does margin of victory matter?.... NO That's exactly why it is absent from the BCS rankings, it means jack shit. |

I don't know about you guys, but I expect Navy football to win it all this year... I mean c'mon, they have QB Craig Candeto who can run the triple option like no other QB in all of college football. Not to mention the fact that they had the #1 rushing offense in the nation. I mean, sure they lost to TCU, Rutgers, Delaware, and this years stellar Irish team, but where in the BCS rankings is win/loss record or toughness of schedule taken into account? I challenge anybody to try and tell me we don't deserve to be there. I believe that the BCS people will realize the error in their ways and rank us in one of the top slots by next monday after we beat Central Michigan, another QUALITY football program. Coach Paul Johnson's motto says it all "EXPECT TO WIN"... and I, for one, do.

the only reason anyone likes navy is their QB's last name is candeto...that is a former ECW wrestler....and back to ohio state...they arent a true contender...yeah margin of victory means shit now...but its ashame that USC got jumped by them...they dont belong...they just flat out arent better then USC but it doesnt matter...this whole conversation is mute...cause Oklahoma is your 2004 Sears Trophy winners

Well considering our record over the previous two seasons was 2-22, I think a 6-4 record and only 3 point loss to Notre Dame is pretty respectable. Seriously, I'm glad I go to a school where I can brag about SOME wins, as opposed to most who post on here. In all reality, though, I think that USC will play Oklahoma for the national championship this year and get it handed to them in a big way. OU is just too good.

having their starting middle linebacker out for the game killed them. They moved A.J. Hawk over to middle, but he had no clue what he was doing, and carpenter was a lost cause playing outside linebacker.

I'm not like a hard-core college football guy or anything, so forgive me for not giving many details other than the final score, but:
Kansas State killed #1 Oklahoma today in the Big 12 Championship, 35-7. I guess Okla will still probably be in the championship game, they basically just lost any chance they had of being remembered as one of the greatest teams of all time though. -Ugly Bastard |

USC vs. LSU should be the title game, Oklahoma blew it. The BCS is showing how fucking screwwy it is right now. They should be just like DII and DIII I mean they have a novel idea it's called a fucking PLAYOFF. Take the top 16 teams and let them battle for 4 weeks.

Well for starters money. The bowl executives, can make allot more money this way by setting up games in which they make the most profit. It can be argued that it had to do with the way the sugar bowl ended up, because technically there are two national championships being played instead of one.
The fiesta bowl is another great example of this, rather than select Florida State and prevent a rematch of FSU and Miami in the Orange bowl (they also play each other for the season opener, so basically they play 3 times in 11 months) the Fiesta Bowl Committee selected OSU because we bring in a shitload more money than Miami or FSU. In my opinion the BCS sucks, after OSU got dicked over in 98', its first year, I’ve never been a fan of it because it has been unfair to allot of teams, and USC is just another example of it. All the BCS does is create more of a sense of need for a tournament than the previous bowl system did, because now we have teams bitching about who should or shouldn't be in bowl games. This of course leads to complaints about the system, and eventually the manner in which selections are made. At least with the previous system there was tradition, more than one bowl game carried prestige, and there was little or no bitching because it didn’t matter where you went. On a side note I did mention tradition didn’t I? Because now that I think about it what type of tradition does the Rose Bowl have now? It no longer showcases the Pac 10 and Big 10, and hell the fucking rose parade is no longer on the day of the game. Piss on the BCS. In my humble opinion I think that the BCS is just a stepping stone for a tournament. Bowl Committee's have had the taste of the profit a national championship game can bring, and I don’t see the fuckers from the Orange, or Fiesta Bowls taking a pay cut to go back to the old system. The only way the system can stay around after the contract expires, is for USC to lose to Michigan, because it would prove the formula correct that USC wasn’t the superior team, and further testimony to the success of the formula would be the thriller in Tempe last year. However if USC wins, you have a tie, which the BCS was designed to prevent, and more importantly the #1 and #2 teams didn't play for the trophy either. This right here would be more than enough to terminate the contract, and install a new tournament system, or return to the old bowl system. Hopefully the latter of the two, because College Football is unlike any other sport in the fact it places just as much importance on the regular season as it does on the presea |
