Default Cover Songs

This is a list I've been working on for some time, and whenever I tell people about it they are able to add to it. Best cover songs.

1) Hurt, Johnny Cash (NIN)
2) With a Little Help From my Friends, Joe Cocker (Beatles)
3) Respect, Aretha (Otis Redding)
4) Turn the Page, Metallica (Bob Seger)
5) Landslide, Smashing Pumpkins (Fleetwood Mac)
6) Gin and Juice, The Gourds (Snoop)
6b) Boys in the Hood, Dynamite Hack (Easy E)
7) Knockin on Heaven's Door, GnR (Bob Dylan)
8) Mack the Knife, Louie Armstrong (Bobby Darin, I think)
9) Across the Universe, Fiona Apple (Shut up) (The Beatles)
10) Dirty Water, Dropkick Murphies (The Standells)
Honorable Mention: Blinded by the Light, Manfred Mann's Earth Band (Bruce Springsteen) (Notable because it sounds like he says "Revved up like a douche")

I'm sure I missed some good ones and there are a lot more Beatles covers, Dylan Covers, and Johnny Cash covered everyone, and really well.

All Along the Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix covering Bob Dylan.

I love a good cover...needless to say, I can come up with a few.

Dr. Dog - "Heart It Races" (Architecture in Helsinki cover)
Man Man - "I'd Rather Go Blind" (Etta James cover)
Brand New - "Oh Comely" (Neutral Milk Hotel cover)
Devo - "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" (Rolling Stones cover)
Primus - "Have A Cigar" (Pink Floyd cover)
The Tallest Man On Earth - "Graceland" (Paul Simon cover)
Johnny Cash - "Personal Jesus" (Depeche Mode cover)
The Boy Least Likely To - "Faith" (George Michael cover)
The Postal Service - "Against All Odds" (Phil Collins cover)

Radiohead Covers
Vampire Weekend - "Exit Music (For A Film)"
John Mayer - "Kid A"
The Darkness - "Street Spirit (Fade Out)" this song is fucking epic

Nice ones.

To follow up, Iron and Wine does a good cover of Postal Service's "From Great Heights"

Also there is an Otis Redding "Satisfaction" but I'm unclear on what came first.

And Graceland is an amazing and underrated album.

Yeah they're actually covering Ben Folds' cover. It's still funny, though.

Original by Hendrix. Also covered by SRV. Always liked this version though.

They used this song in the trailer for The Social Network. As a huge Radiohead fan, this song is usually not one of my favorites. But this version is amazing, and the video adds a perfect creepiness, in my opinion.

Always thought Judas Priest's version of Green Manalishi was better than Fleetwood Mac's.
